Selected station
Otherwise, choose a reference harbor for the tide values. The tide values of that harbor will correct the sound data you import. It also works with your former own data.
Then choose a station from the harbor list:
How to configure the Filter Data Import
MaxSea Operator Manual version 12.6
Maximum import scale
It is recommended to select a scale to import your data. It indicates the precision of the grid on which data will be inserted.
For example: for a scale of 1:10000, data will be available from 1:10000 to 1:250 million.
Note: to display the under scale value you have to activate the Overzoom function (see 3D properties chapter). Data value will be available but not precise.
Please pay attention to following advises:
If you choose the Auto item from the pop-up, MaxSea will define the scale of imported depth value.
Filter:
Select the range of sounding values that will be inserted in the database to enhance it. It is a % value.
Edit 3D database
Edit 3D Database
This function allows you to display the contents of the database in order to eventually delete or modify non accurate values.
To edit database, first select [Edit 3D database] from the [Edit] menu:
Then, the following display appears in which you can from this window:
•Delete user data values
•Modify user data values
3D Bathymetric database
MaxSea allows to display independently each kind of data:
•C-Map by small pink crosses
•UserData by small red crosses
It will allow to display step by step these 3 kinds of data, or to select which one to display.
You can see that the grid display is different: the grid and all imported data are displayed just as data that can be deleted are displayed with red included rectangles.
"Overzoom depth" values are represented by crosses in dotted line. 2 levels of "Overzoom depth" values are displayed in the 2D view.
Example :
MaxSea Operator Manual version 12.6
Correct value representation |
First level of the "overzoom depth" |
|
value |
By default all data displayed on screen and which can be edited, are selected.
Second level of the "overzoom depth" value
IMPORTANT
It is possible to delete and modify Overzoom depth values you have to select the option Overzoom from the 2D properties dialog box.
(for more information about this option refer you to the 2D properties chapter)
•To select several values use the Select tool in the Rectangle mode and draw the zone in which you want to modify or delete data.
•You can also refine this selection by determining a range to which the operation will be applied:
•Choose the Range tab.
The following box appears and allows you the below options:
•Apply to all Depth values
•Apply inside the range Depth values you have chosen
•Apply outside the range Depth values you have chosen Then define the range

Modify Non Accurate Values
Select the Offset tab before you have selected non accurate values to be modified.
Three modifying options are proposed:
•[Offset] box checked: the function consists in adding a fixed value in your selected depth values and then you have to choose the value which you want to affect.
•[Exact Value] box checked: the function consists in replacing selected depth values by a fixed value and then you have to choose the value which you want to affect.
•[Offset%] box checked: the function consists in replacing selected depth values by a proportional value and then you have to choose the value which you want to affect.

After you have chosen the option select the [Modify] button.
Modified values are displayed and you have to:
•Confirm your modification by selecting [Validate]
Or
•Escape by selecting [Undo]
Note: you also have the possibility to do successive selections before validating your modification.

All depth values selected are automatically refreshed in the 3D view according to the 2D view, so you can improve your selection.
At every moment you can choose to undo or to validate the deleted function. You also have the possibility to do successive selections before the deleted function.
Manage 3D database

Frequently MaxSea will warn you to do backup of your 3D database.
You can reach the management of the database directly from the MaxSea [file] menu.
