Do we really need to study?

Higher education? Our parents, the government, people on TV scare us that nothing can be achieved without education. Is it really that important? Sort of. There some examples of people who proved that without education it`s possible to earn huge amounts of money. These people demonstrate that success doesn`t need money, ego and diplomas. Just by working hard, by using brains and talents everybody is able to earn fame and money.

Giorgio Armani. Famous fashion-designer

Giorgio was born in 1934 in Piacenza, Italy. After finishing school he decided to be a medical man, so he attended medical university in Bologna. After two years of studying, he understood that the medical stuff is not what he liked. He gave up university and started working as a photograph assistant, that he joined an army. He fell into the world of high fashion after a job in a supermarket. Giorgio`s first serious step was a job as an assistant of a company head that produced men clothes. And only in 1974 he showed the world his first collection that brought him fame. Now he`s one of the most famous designer in the world. His outfits are worn by the most influential people. Although he has no certificate of degree.

Quentin Tarantino. Director

Quentin Tarantino was born in 1963 in Tennessee, the USA. He was an adulterate child. He not only can`t boast of having higher education, he actually didn`t get on well in school. Quentin didn`t keep pace with his classmates, till the six grade he didn`t know how to define time. He has never liked exact sciences, but cinematography attracted him. He gave up school at the age of 15 and started working in a cinema. Now Quentin Tarantino is a famous director who has 37 awards including two Oscars. Six his movies are on the list of «100 greatest films of all time».

Robert Fisher. Chess player.

At the age of 6 his elder sister taught him how to play chess and then all it started. This game swallowed him up, so he didn`t noticed anyone around but a chess board. He even didn`t communicate with other children. His mother was scared by her son`s behavior. She turned for the advice to doctors first, but then she realized that it`s not illness, it`s a gift that should be developed. At the age of 15 he decided to give up school and dedicate himself to chess. Robert Fisher is the most outstanding chess player of all time.

Jacques Yves-Cousteau. World Ocean explorer

Jacques Yves-Cousteau was born in 1940 in Bordeaux, France. His greatest achievement in education was a marine school in Brest. After finishing it he became a warrant officer. Heaving health issues he wasn`t able to subdue the sky , but underwater world was opened for him. Receiving treatment near the sea he started his first diving. Not having higher education Jacques Yves-Cousteau invented an aqualung, cameras for underwater shooting and equipment for lightening the underwater world. He showed the underwater life to people around the world and they appreciated it. Countless awards, titles only prove that his name will always be connected up with the sea, even without having a diploma.
