To display this section, click the Show button () and select Advanced Physics Interface Options. Select a Constraint typeBidirectional, symmetric or Unidirectional. Select the Use weak constraints check box to use weak constraints and create dependent variables for the corresponding Lagrange multipliers.

Select a Static pressure curve to specify a lumped curve—Linear (the default), Static pressure curve data, or User defined:

If Linear is selected, enter values or expressions for the Static pressure at no flow pnf (SI unit: Pa) and the Free delivery flow rate V0,fd (SI unit: m3/s).

The static pressure curve is equal to the static pressure at no flow rate when V0 0 and equal to 0 when the flow rate is larger than the free delivery flow rate. The default static pressure is 100 Pa and the default free delivery is 0.01m3/s.

Select Static pressure curve data to enter or load data under the Static Pressure Curve Data section. Also select an Interpolation function type under Static Pressure Curve InterpolationLinear (the default), Piecewise cubic, or Cubic spline. The extrapolation method is always a constant value. In order to avoid problems with an undefined function, the function used for the boundary condition is the maximum between the interpolated function and 0. In the Units section, select the unit for the Flow rate (SI default is m^3/s) and for the Static pressure curve (SI default is Pa) values entered under the Static Pressure Curve Data section.

Select User defined to enter different values or expressions. The flow rate across the selection where this boundary condition is applied is defined by id.V0 where id is the physics interface identifier (for example, id is spf by default for this interface). In order to avoid unexpected behavior, the function used for the fan curve is the maximum between the user-defined function and 0.

This section displays when Vacuum Pump is selected as the Boundary condition for a Laminar Flow interface. This option is available for Outlet boundary conditions. See also Theory for the Vacuum Pump Outlet

Note
