1 The purpose of individual work

The purpose of studies is to consolidate and practically learn specific tasks of calculation and design of electric drive.

The main purpose is to give skills to students in development and investigation of basic electric drive parameters, drive control schemes at given conditions.

2 The task of individual work

Calculation object are electric drives of lifting machines, carried out on the base of DC motors and induction motors. Initial data for calculations are shown in appendix A, where number of variant, content, terms and also drive type by type of current and basic drive parameters are presented. Technical parameters of EDs are shown in appendix B for DC motors. Appendix data are presented for conditional single motor electric drives of load-lifting mechanisms. The next questions are considered during the studies: preliminary motor choice; calculation and construction of speed diagrams; determination of motor equivalent power by equivalent moment; verification of chosen motor by overloading ability; calculation of natural mechanical characteristic in named and relative units; calculation of artificial characteristic for rheostat control of angular speed at given conditions in named and relative units; calculation of braking modes characteristic; calculation of start diagram; calculation of transient processes at motor starting; principle schemes of drives control; design of drive control scheme ( by starting, braking, speed regulation etc.)

Presented list of question can be changed; some parts can be shortening, expanded of replaced by another one.

Mechanism (figure 2.1), for which opened electric drive system is calculated – sloping lift with counterweight, which operates in base modes: lifting and lowering in respect to loaded and unloaded wagon.
