Wall

The Wall feature has boundary conditions available that describe the existence of a solid wall.

B O U N D A R Y S E L E C T I O N

From the Selection list, choose the boundaries that represent walls.

M I X T U R E B O U N D A R Y C O N D I T I O N

Select a Mixture boundary conditionNo slip, Slip or Wall functions.

No slip is the default boundary condition for The Mixture Model, Laminar Flow Interface and prescribes u = 0, that is, that the fluid at the wall is not moving.

Wall functions is the default boundary condition for The Mixture Model, Turbulent Flow Interface. It prescribes a no-slip condition for solid walls in a turbulent flow. Wall functions are used to model the thin region near the wall with high gradients in the flow variables.

For both interfaces, select Slip to set the velocity component normal to the wall to zero u n = 0 .

Select an option from the Dispersed phase boundary condition list—No dispersed phase

flux (the default), Dispersed phase concentration, Dispersed phase outlet, Disperse phase

flux, or Symmetry.

If Dispersed phase concentration is selected, enter a Dispersed phase volume fraction

d0 (Unitless).

If Disperse phase flux is selected, enter a Disperse phase flux d (SI unit: m/s.
