8.Прислівник

Adverb

Прислівник — це частина мови, що вказує на ознаку дії або обставини, за яких вона відбувається. Прислівник характеризує дієслово, показує, як, коли, де, за яких обставин тощо відбувається дія.

Розрізняють чотири форми прислівників.

1.Прості: now (зараз), hard (напружено, тяжко), fast (швидко), too (також), always (завжди), never (ніколи), ever (колись).

2.Похідні.

Утворені від іменників: week — weekly (щотижня); year — yearly (щороку); month — monthly (щомісяця); day — daily (щоденно).

Утворені від прикметників: quick — quickly (швидко); usual — usually (зазвичай); happy — happily (щасливо).

3.Складні: sometimes (інколи); somewhere (десь); inside (всередині); below (знизу).

4.Складені (з кількох слів): at first (спочатку); in vain (дарма); at last (нарешті).

Правила написання Spelling rules

Закінчення -ly додається до прикметника і:

1. Якщо прикметник закінчується на -y → i + ly.

•happy — happily

•lucky — luckily

•dirty — dirtily

2. Якщо прикметник закінчується на -e → ely.

•polite — politely

•sure — surely

Виняток: true — truly

3. Якщо прикметник закінчується на -le → ly.

•possible — possibly

•probable — probably

4. Якщо прикметник закінчується на -ic → ally.

Зверніть увагу

Не всі слова, що мають закінчення -ly, є прислівниками. Деякі прикметники так само мають закінчення -ly.
