Пособие представляет собой многоуровневый курс общего языка, а также сборник
текстов на английском языке по основам специальности. Состоит из 4 разделов, каждый из
которых соответствует определенной сфере общения (бытовая, учебно-познавательная,
социально-культурная и профессиональная сферы). Каждый раздел включает в себя
ориентированный на познавательные потребности текст и систему упражнений,
способствующие развитию коммуникативных способностей студентов, расширению их
активного и пассивного лексического запаса и предназначенных для работы в аудитории, а
также тексты для самостоятельной работы и задания для последующего обсуждения.
Пособие предназначено для студентов 1-2-го курсов высших учебных заведений

Введение
Учебное пособие «Сферы общения» по развитию навыков устной речи и
межкультурной коммуникации для студентов 1-2 курсов экономических и
других специальностей составлено в соответствии с государственным
образовательным стандартом высшего профессионального образования
третьего поколения и рассчитано на 216 часов (108 часов аудиторных занятий и
108 часов самостоятельной работы).
Цель учебного пособия направлена на комплексное развитие
коммуникативной, когнитивной, информационной, социокультурной,
профессиональной и общекультурной компетенций студентов. Пособие
нацелено на подготовку студентов к самостоятельной работе с текстом, в том
числе и со специальной литературой, обучение устным формам общения на
материале предложенных текстов, развитие коммуникативных способностей
студентов, расширение кругозора и повышение общей культуры студентов,
воспитание толерантности и уважения к духовным ценностям разных стран и
народов.
Пособие состоит из 4 разделов, каждый из которых соответствует
определенной сфере общения (бытовая, учебно-познавательная, социальнокультурная и профессиональная сферы).
Данные разделы различаются по трудоемкости и объему изучаемого
материала. На освоение названных разделов рекомендуется выделять
следующее количество часов:
Раздел 1 (бытовая сфера общения) – 25 часов
Раздел 2 (учебно-познавательная сфера общения) – 25 часов
Раздел 3 (социально-культурная сфера общения) – 29 часов
Раздел 4 (профессиональная сфера общения) – 29 часов
Для каждого раздела определены тематика учебного общения и проблемы для
обсуждения.
Каждый раздел содержит ориентированный на познавательные
потребности текст и систему упражнений к нему, а также тексты для
самостоятельной работы и задания для последующего обсуждения. При отборе
текстов учитывались такие критерии как актуальность темы, познавательность
и увлекательность изложения материала.
После завершения работы над основным текстом и следующими за ним
упражнениями обучаемые могут обратиться к текстам для самостоятельной
работы, тематически развивающим основной текст и приведенным в конце
каждого раздела. Задания после данных текстов выполняются в письменном
виде, поскольку письмо является необходимым условием формирования
навыков правильной речи на иностранном языке.

ЗАДАНИЕ 1. Прочитайте интернациональные слова и определите их значения,
обращая внимание на части речи:
а) существительные: student, group, person, seminar, material, exam, music,
lecture, rector, snowboarding, economy, economist, information, English, Maths,
Economics, Physics, Management, Marketing, Chemistry, Finance
б) прилагательные: academic, economic, practical
в) глагол: discuss
ЗАДАНИЕ 2. Догадайтесь о значении выделенных слов и переведите
предложения.

ЗАДАНИЕ 3. Используя, данные в скобках слова, ответьте на вопросы, но

ЗАДАНИЕ 7. Прочитайте текст к теме «Student Life».
I am Alexander. I am 17 years old. I was born on the 5th of March 2002 in
Kursk. Now I study at the State Technical University. I am a first-year student and
study at the day-time department.
My parents are economists by education. My father works as a head of sales
department at a book publishing house. He is responsible for sales strategy of books.
My mother is a journalist at a local newspaper. She specializes in economics. She is
often busy with her work.
As for me I entered the Faculty of Economics, Management and Information
Technology because I want to understand the world of business, market and money
systems. I get a very good standard of education and I like my studies a lot now.
Now let me describe my student life. The academic year at the University is
divided into two terms: from September to January and from February to July. At the
end of each term students take several exams and credit tests. If students pass
examinations successfully they get a scholarship. But a part of the students have to
pay the university fees.
Twice a year students have vacations. In summer I spend holidays with my family or
friends.
Students are divided into academic groups. There are 30 people in our group.
As a rule we study six days a week: on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday,
Friday and Saturday. Every day we have lectures and practical classes. We study
different subjects such as: Maths, Economics, English, Physics, History of Economic
Science, Information Technology and others. Usually I do not miss my classes
because I want to pass my exams well.
Students spend from six to eight hours at the University. My classes begin at
half past eight or ten past ten o’clock in the morning. The day is divided into different
pairs of classes which continue on throughout the day, and each pair is two 45 minute
classes with a five minute break in the middle. At twenty five to two we have a big
interval for lunch. That is the time to share the latest news with my friends. We often
have lunch in a small cafeteria. You can buy sandwiches, pizzas, fruit and drinks
here. We also have short breaks that last for ten minutes between classes.
From time to time I have to stay at the University till late in the evening
because I go to the library to read up for seminars or to write a report. As a rule I
have little spare time on weekdays. So by the end of the week I get very tired.
I live in a rented room not far from the University. My landlady is very nice
and friendly.

In the evenings and on Sundays (Sunday is my day off) when I have free time I
go out. I go for a walk with my friends, go to the cinema. When the weather is fine I
like a ride in the country to have a picnic.
I'm fond of reading books. They give me more knowledge of people’s lives and
feelings and broaden out my outlook. In my opinion, books are a source of emotional
inspiration and romantic feeling. Besides, books help me to continue my education.
And of course I like music! It gives me much delight and pleasure. I enjoy playing
the guitar. I am also a great theatre-goer. Whenever I have some time to spare, I go to
the theatre. I'm not keen on television.
I also like roller-skating and biking. I want to learn mountain skiing and
snowboarding for health and pleasure. Twice a month I go to my home town by train,
bus or car to visit my parents.
In conclusion I would like to tell you about things I hope to achieve in my life:
to have a very successful career, to build the home of my dreams and to find someone
in my life to share all that with. So, there is a lot of work to do but I enjoy it.
