Exercises 1.

Put into Reported speech the following statements.

Exercise 2.

Turn the following sentences into subordinate clauses by making them depend upon one of the principal clauses given below: they knew; I found out; she was sure; we decided; I promised; it was clear, etc.

Exercise 5.

Report these statements using the verbs “say” or “tell” in the Present Indefinite tense. Mention the speaker.

Exercise 6.

Rewrite each of these statements in Indirect Speech, paying special attention to the change of adverbs of time and place; the reporting being done several days later.

Exercise 8.

Rewrite each of the following statements in Indirect Speech paying special attention to the change of pronouns.
