5.The Internet and English
More and more people nowadays are interested to be known about all events in the world, in taking some information quickly. With help of Internet you can mae it easily. Now millions of people around the world are logging into libraries, download computer programms and music, take part in discussion groups, teleconferences, even the Presidents have their own Internet account. Now we can connect with Internet mobile phone, photo camera and even alarm clock. Now we can be connected with all the world everywhere – in the bus, underground.
There is one main thing the Internet and English have in common – both of them are universal international things, that is why they have become indispensable parts of out lives.
Let's turn to the Internet at first and talk about its plus and minos. The Internet has a lot of advantages because it provides with great amount of opportinities – we can get any information we are looking for there, we can buy different goods on-line, we can get the information about all the cultural and social events and book the tickets there, we can boo the tours, the train and plane ticets, we can communicate with people all around the world, we can make new friends through the Int. So we can say that the Int.can replace lots of things such as the newspapers, the magazines, the TV guides, the TV itself, the paper, the post-officers, musical equipment, the books and encyclpedias, the phones thus saving us a lot of money.
But it has its disadvantages for sure, though it mainly concerns those people who are not able to control themselves, who become addicted to the Int.and simply can't live already without constad googling, chatting at the forums, playing on-line games and so on.
Now talking about the educational resources of the Int.I'd say that there're 2 types of them. The resources of the first type contain different books, articles and so on – just the separate theoretical materials which allow you thinking and creating your own works. And another – and the worst – type of educational resources is the one that provides you with already written reports, diplomas and so on – thus only letting you to steal the other's works and making you lazy to think and work yourself.
But that's concerning the general knowledge and for learning English the Int.can be quite efficient. First of all, the Int.can provide you with different types of on-line lessons and text-books, dictionaries, reading and listening resources which is quite good for improving your language or gaining primarily knowledge. But for developing your language skills and the spoken lang.it also may be useful to get in touch with different chats, forums, social networks, blogs – all of those can provide you with the opportunity to write in Eng.and to read the other's thoughts written in English which is quite good for the studying of the lang.
So, as I've already mentioned Eng.and the Int.are 2 international things connecting people all around the world that's why the international lang.has at once become the universal lang.on the international network.
