Абсолютный/независимый причастный оборот – это причастие в функции обстоятельства с собственным подлежащим. Оборот может стоять до и после "костяка" главного предложения. Соединяется с главным предложением посредством одного из следующих союзов: причем, а, и (когда стоит после "костяка"); так как, потому что, поскольку, когда и т. д. (когда стоит до "костяка").

Абсолютный причастный оборот обычно отделяется от главного предложения запятой. Иногда оборот начинается с предлога with.

Data Format Conversion

Data format conversion 'is necessary when the data destined for 8087 input is not in 8087 format, or 8087 data output is destined for 8088 use or output to any output device. This means that a real number entered from IBM Personal Computer Basic, Compiler Basic, version 1.0 Fortran or Pascal cannot be directly moved into the 8087 and used. Numbers must be converted from Binary real format to 8087 and then, after all computations are finished, converted back from 8087 to Binary real format.

Data format conversion is not necessary when using IBM Personal Computer Fortran or Pascal real number data formats version 2.0.

The conversion process from Binary real single precision to 8087 short real can be accomplished by one of many ways. One way is to save the sign bit of the number, shift the first byte right one bit, with the lowest bit being placed into the upper bit of the second byte, and then placing the sign bit into bit 7 of the first byte. Because the biasing scheme is different for these formats, subtract two from the exponent. Reverse the operation when going from 8087 short real back to Binary real single precision.

A similar process would be required for the conversion of Binary real double precision to 8087 long real and back again.
