9. Прилагательное “far” имеет две формы сравнительной и превосходной
степени:

10. Прилагательные “elder/eldest” употребляются перед существительными, когда речь идет о членах семьи: my elder brother/son, the eldest child, she is the eldest. А прилагательные “older/oldest” говорят о возрасте людей и предметов: He is older than me (I am). Он старше меня.
This book is older. Эта книга старее.
11. Прилагательное “the latest” обозначает «недавний, новый, современный»:
I bought the latest edition of today’s paper.
Я купила свежий экземпляр сегодняшней газеты.
А прилагательное “the last” обозначает «последний»:
I bought the last edition of today’s paper.
Я купила последний экземпляр сегодняшней газеты.
12. После превосходной степени часто употребляется предлог “of” (со
значением «из»):
Steve is the best of all the students in our group.
Стив – лучший из всех студентов в нашей группе.
13. Для выражения меньшей или самой низкой степени качества предмета по сравнению с другими предметами употребляются соответственно слова “less” (менее) и “least” (наименее), которые ставятся перед прилагательным в форме положительной степени:
pleasant - приятный, less pleasant - менее приятный,
least pleasant - наименее приятный;
сomfortable - удобный, less comfortable - менее удобный,
least сomfortable - наименее удобный.
