College: – a place, where students go to studying or receive training after they have left school (college of further education);
– a university where students can study for a degree after they have left school;
– one of the main divisions of some large universities;
– one of the separate institutions that some British universities such as Oxford and Cambridge, are divided into.
Degree: – a university or college course, normally lasting three years or more;
– the qualification obtained by students who successfully complete the university course.
Tuition – the act of teaching, especially to one person or a small group of people.
Tutor – a teacher who teaches an individual student or a very small group.
Tutorial – a period of teaching in a university that involves discussion between an individual student or a small group of students and a tutor.
Essay – a short piece of writing on a particular subject written by a student as part of course study.
Fellow – a senior member of some colleges or universities; a member of academic organization.
Fee – an amount of money that you pay for professional advice or assistance.
Tuition fee – money that you pay to be taught in a college or university.
Scholarship – an amount of money in a form of grant or subsidy given to a particular student showing high academic skills but without adequate financial resources to enroll in a specific university.
Curriculum (-la) – the subjects that are included in a course of study in a school, college.
Syllabus – a list of the topics, books that the students should study in a particular subject at school or college.
