7.6 What is the future of file-sharing sites? Will they be closed or become fee-paying?

Many file-sharing sites are closed, owners file lawsuit against them. For example, a popular site torrent.ru are closed for copyright infringement. But now the site is renamed in bittorent.ru and still work. It is possible to download films, books and music except Adobe company programs. I think that in Russia is useless to force people to pay for files on the Internet because we haven’t habit to pay for it and many years everything download everything free of charge. Now to force people to pay for something which always was free will be very difficult. Besides there are so many same sites and to bring an action against from all of them. Though there are sites with a paid content, and there are people who pay for films and music, but it‘s minority of Internet users

7.7 What is your general attitude to file-sharing? Prove your position.

Nowadays it's possible to call the Internet the most convenient supplier of fresh information from an every spot on the globe, including images protected by copyright, texts, literary works, music, the fine arts, cinema and others. I use file-sharing sites and I’m not going to refuse of them. It quickly way to receive information. I don't use them for commercial benefit, I don't break the law. Other question is piracy and plagiarism. It is valid a crime. Plagiarism not only offends feelings of the author, but also deprives of it profit for his work also as a piracy

  1. What is investigative journalism?

  2. Define investigative journalism.

  3. Provide examples of investigative journalism.

Investigative journalism is a form of journalism, the main part of this activity is a careful study of the subject of publication. Usually it is dedicated to a crime, political scandals and etc. A journalist is working as a private investigator, because his work is based on a search of hidden information. Journalist must attract public's attention to the subject of his work!

Investigative journalist should:

- Analyze documents

- Work with the sources: analyzing archives, tax documents and etc.

- Cooperate with police

- Use informers (paid or voluntary)

- To work under the shelter. As a rule, this method is called "journalist changes profession." Notable examples of investigations - "Watergate scandal" and also we can remember journalist Gary Webb ("San Jose Mercury Nevs") wrote about the connection between the CIA and the Nicaraguan contra, who distributed cocaine in the United States.

  1. When and where did investigative journalism first appear?

  2. Who were the first investigative journalists? What stories did they cover?

We can not say exactly when was the first journalistic investigation. Maybe we can talk about investigative journalism in ancient Rome. Roman orators during defending their clients, investigated their cases and then announced what they had found. At the same time they were lawyers and journalists.

We can also remember the famous "Dreyfus' case." Captain Alfred Dreyfus was accused in spying for Germany. He was convicted and sent into exile on Devil's Island. But Emile Zola n his defense made famous French writer, who actually made a journalistic investigation and wrote a famous speech in his defense and Dreyfus was acquitted.

Of course, we all know about the Watergate scandal.

In Russia investigating journalism has its own history. Professor of The MSU, mr. A. Tertichny believes that Pushkin's work, "the history of Pugachev" can be considered as the first example of journalistic investigation. This is an original point of view.

In 1887, Vladimir Gilyarovsky in his article "The Catching dogs in Moscow," for the first time in media raised the question of stray animals in the city. The writer was an innovator.

In modern Russia we could distinguish Vladimir Mukusev. His the most famous investigation is the murder of Vlad Listyev
