  1. Give information about your favourite museum. Try to give as many details as you can

A museum is a “permanent institution in the service of society and of its development, open to the public, which acquires, conserves, researches, communicates and exhibits the tangible and intangible heritage of humanity and its environment, for the purposes of education, study, and enjoyments”, as defined by the International Council of Museums Association definition. Museums collect and care for object of scientific, artistic, or historical importance and make them available for public viewing through exhibits that may be permanent or temporary. Museums are usually open to general public, sometimes charging an admission fee. Museums can be a great source of information about cultures and history. They can be next categories: fine art, applied arts, craft, archaeology, anthropology and ethnology, history, cultural history, military history, science, technology, natural history, numismatics, botanical and zoological gardens and philately.

I think the most unusual are an open air museums. The first open air museums were established in Scandinavia towards the end of the 19th century, and the concept soon spread throughout Europe and North America. Open air museums are variously known as skansen, museums of buildings, living farm, living history and folk museums. Most open air museums are located in regions where wooden architecture prevail, as wooden structures may be translocated without substantial loss of authenticity. A more recept form is the Ecomuseums, which originated in France. I think, it is unusual and entertaining idea, as people can not only to visit interesting places but spend our free time in out door with your family, or friends.

  1. What kind of painting do you prefer? Why?

There are a lot of kind of painting, for example realism, expressionism, kubism, pointillism, abstract art and others. I prefer the realistic way in painting, as in that I can observe a real people, concrete situation and interesting story. A realistic painting is a range of different genres, such as landscape, seascape, still-life, portrait, self-portrait, mural painting and others, therefore I believe everyone can find something attractive for oneself.

  1. What is a self-taught artist?

A self-taught artist is a man who to learn art and to create his work independent from schools or other organizations. Usually it is either a person hasn’t opportunities to learn in academy or special schools or he wantn’t to learn, he not to need in it. For example one of the outstanding British portraitist who had an important influence on his contemporaries. He collected Old Masters paintings and made careful studies of Rembrandt, Titian, Corregio. He believed that by analysis of Old Masters he could build a composite style of great art. His aim not to copy their individual works, but to win a similar mastery of the effect which they knew how to achieve: to rival them in their own language but not to copy them. So Reynolds was really self-taught artist and he was very successful in his time and stay nowadays.
