16. Speak on the following questions:

  • Have you already chosen your future profession? What do your parents and friends think about it? Why do they think so?

  • Can you say that your choice of your future profession was influenced by the subjects at school that you study/studied? By the teachers who teach/taught you?

  • How many jobs and professions have you changed in dreams since you were a child?

  • Could you say that your parents’ occupation may influenced your choice of a future profession? Yes/No. How?

  • What profession in your opinion are considered to be more or less prestigious nowadays? Why?

  • What knowledge and skills in your opinion are necessary for any job or profession?

  • Do you believe that people are born for this or that profession? Yes/No. Give examples.

17. 1) Think about your own job. Can you explain your responsibilities and duties in English?

2) You have just bought a piece of land and you are planning to build a house on it. Write down at least six people from previous exercises that you may need to help you. What would you need their help for?

3) Write and discuss a list of friends, relatives and neighbours (just choose people who have jobs). Can you write down what each person does?
