  1. Read and translate the text: travelling with children, rest, fragile baggage

Traveling with Children. Children between 2 and 12 years of age are given a full baggage allowance. They receive discounts off the adult fare and are entitled to their own seat. Infants under 2 years old pay just 10% of the full adult fare, are entitled to a baggage allowance of up to 10 kg (plus cradle or pram) but do not get their own seat. If your children are travelling alone, we will take care of them – just let us know when you purchase their tickets.

Traveling with Pets. UIA allows transportation of small pets (cats, dogs, birds, guinea pigs, hamsters and also seeing-eye dogs). Transportation is permitted only if they are accompanied by adult passengers and only upon prior agreement with UIA. You should submit a valid medical certificate, a vaccination certificate and other documents required by special services on sanitary and quarantine regulations control in departure, arrival and transit countries. UIA is not responsible for government agencies refusal to export, import or transit pets.

The total weight of a pet and its container is not included in the free baggage allowance.

You will be charged for carrying pets in accordance with UIA’s current tariffs. The container must be kept under the owner’s supervision during the flight and shall be stowed under the seat in front of you. It is prohibited to keep it on a passenger seat. The number of pets per cabin on the flight is limited: 1 pet in business class and 1 pet in economy class. The total weight of a pet and container shall not exceed 5 kg. Pets and birds whose weight alone with a container exceeds 5 kg shall be carried only in the hold of the aircraft.

Note: Transportation of pets on flights to the UK is possible only as cargo.

Carriage of trained dogs (seeing-eye dogs) is free of charge without any limits on weight and size, on the condition that they have a relevant certificate, collar and muzzle and that they are kept on a leash by the person that accompanies them. Prior agreement with UIA for transportation of trained dogs is obligatory.

Traveling with Fragile Baggage. UIA allows passengers to carry musical instruments, works of art, electronic equipment and other fragile and large items.

Such baggage may be carried in the cabin, provided the following conditions are met:

  • one or more extra seats must be reserved and paid for;

  • the maximum authorized weight pet seat is 75 kg;

  • it must be possible to properly secure the item on the seat.

The transportation of special baggage is subject to permission in advance.
