I’m sorry – Простите, (виноват).
Sorry I’ve kept you waiting – Простите, что заставил вас ждать.
Sorry to trouble (bother, disturb) you – Простите за беспокойство.
I do hope I haven’t hurt you. – Надеюсь, я вас не ушиб.
Excuse me. (Forgive me.) – Извините меня.
Excuse me for a moment. I shan’t be long – Извините, я не надолго.
Pardon me. 1 didn’t mean any harm – Извините, я ничего плохого не имел ввиду.
I beg your pardon – Прошу извинить меня.
I apologize, I didn’t really mean that – Прошу прощения. Я не то хотел сказать.
I must apologize. It’s my fault – Я должен извиниться. Это моя вина.
Possible replies
It’s quite all right. Forget it. – Ну что вы! Забудьте!

– Я действительно очень сожалею. Я не имел в виду ничего плохого.
– Ну, ладно. Лучше поздно, чем никогда. Забудь об этом.

Ex. 6. Translate the dialogues into English.
1. – Что ты сегодня вечером (tonight) делаешь, Лена? Не хочешь ли сходить куда-нибудь?
– С большим удовольствием.
– Как ты смотришь на то, чтобы сходить в кино?
– Неплохая мысль. А где мы встретимся?
– Позволь мне зайти (to call for) за тобой часов в шесть.
– Это было бы здорово. Я буду ждать (to wait) тебя.

2. – Влад, я хочу поговорить с тобой кое о чем. Не пойти ли нам в кафе?
