Effective Mass Transport Parameters

Select an option from the Effective mass transport parameters list—No correction (the default), Bruggeman, or User defined. If User defined is selected, enter a value or expression for the Conversion factor feff. The default is 1. Species diffusivities and mobilities are automatically adjusted by the porous media corrections.

Initial Values

The Initial Values node adds initial values for the mass fraction, the velocity field u and the pressure p that can serve as an initial condition for a transient simulation or as an initial guess for a nonlinear solver.

D O M A I N S E L E C T I O N

From the Selection list, choose the domains to define an initial value.

 

If there is more than one type of domain, each with different initial values

 

defined, it may be necessary to deselect these domains. These are then

I N I T I A L V A L U E S

Enter a value or an expression for the initial value of each mass fraction i (except the one determined by the mass constraint) in the Mass fraction fields. The default value is

1/Q, where Q is the number of species. Enter values for the initial values for Velocity field u (SI unit: m/s) and Pressure p (SI unit: Pa).
