From the Selection list, choose the boundaries that represent walls.

P A I R S E L E C T I O N

If Wall is selected from the Pairs menu, choose the pair to define. An identity pair has to be created first. Ctrl-click to deselect.

C O N T I N U O U S P H A S E B O U N D A R Y C O N D I T I O N

Select a Continuous velocity boundary conditionNo slip (uc 0) (the default), or Slip

(uc·n 0 and no viscous stresses in the tangential directions).

D I S P E R S E D P H A S E B O U N D A R Y C O N D I T I O N

Select a Dispersed velocity boundary conditionNo slip (ud 0) (the default), or Slip

(ud·n 0 and no viscous stresses in the tangential directions).

Select a Dispersed phase boundary condition for the dispersed phase volume fraction—

No dispersed phase flux (a zero flux condition) (the default) or Dispersed phase concentration. If Dispersed phase concentration is selected, enter a Dispersed phase volume fraction d0 (unitless). The default is 0.

Inlet

The Inlet feature includes a set of boundary conditions to prescribe a flow where one or both phases enters a domain.

From the Selection list, choose the boundaries that represent the inlet.

T W O - P H A S E I N L E T T Y P E

Select a Two-phase inlet type for the inlet boundary—Mixture (for both continuous and dispersed phases), Continuous phase, or Dispersed phase.

The options available in this section are based on the Two-phase inlet type

selected.

Note

Mixture or Continuous Phase

When Mixture or Continuous phase is selected as the Two-phase inlet type, enter values or expressions for the Velocity field, continuous phase uc0 (SI unit: m/s). Enter values for each coordinate based on space dimension.

Dispersed Phase

When Dispersed phase is selected as the Two-phase inlet type, also select a Continuous phase boundary conditionNo slip (uc 0) (the default) or Slip (uc·n 0 and no viscous stresses in the tangential directions).

D I S P E R S E D P H A S E

The options available in this section are based on the Two-phase inlet type

selected.

Note

Mixture or Dispersed Phase

When Mixture or Dispersed phase is selected as the Two-phase inlet type, enter values or expressions for the Velocity field, dispersed phase ud0 (SI unit: m/s). Enter values for each coordinate based on space dimension.

Also enter a value or expression for the Dispersed phase volume fraction d0 (unitless). The default is 0.

Continuous Phase

When Continuous phase is selected as the Two-phase inlet type, also select a Dispersed phase boundary conditionNo slip (ud 0) (the default) or Slip (ud·n 0 and no viscous stresses in the tangential directions). The condition for d for this two-phase inlet type is a no-flux condition.
