The fluid flow interfaces are grouped by type under the Fluid Flow main branch in the Model Wizard. This chapter discusses applications involving the Euler-Euler Model interfaces found under the Multiphase Flow branch (). The Mechanisms for Modeling Multiphase Flow helps to choose the best one to start with. See also Multiphase FlowBranch and Bubbly Flow and Mixture Model Branches for other multiphase flow interfaces.

The Euler-Euler Model, Laminar Flow interface (), found under the

Multiphase Flow>Euler-Euler Model branch () in the Model Wizard, has the equations, boundary conditions, and volume forces for modeling flow of two continuous and fully interpenetrating phases (Ref. 1).

When this interface is added, these default nodes are also added to the Model BuilderPhase Properties, Wall, and Initial Values. Right-click the Euler-Euler Model, Laminar Flow node to add other features that implement, for example, boundary conditions and volume forces.

The interface identifier is a text string that can be used to reference the respective physics interface if appropriate. Such situations could occur when coupling this interface to another physics interface, or when trying to identify and use variables defined by this physics interface, which is used to reach the fields and variables in expressions, for example. It can be changed to any unique string in the Identifier field.

The default identifier (for the first interface in the model) is ee.

The default setting is to include All domains in the model to define the bubbly flow liquid and gas velocities, pressure, and the averaged volume fraction along with the equations that describe those fields. To choose specific domains, select Manual from the

Selection list.

Select a Dispersed phaseSolid particles or Liquid droplets/bubbles.

When Solid particles is selected, the Solid Viscosity Model is made

available on the Phase Properties Settings window.
