Инфинитив как часть сложного подлежащего
Сложное подлежащее – конструкция, состоящая из сущест-вительного или личного местоимения в Им. п. + инфинитив.
Перевод предложений с конструкцией сложное подлежащее следует начинать со сказуемого предложения и переводить его неоп-ределенно-личным предложением известно, предполагают, уста-новлено, считают и др., за которым следует придаточное предложение, вводимое союзом что:
The use of underground transmission lines is known to have been
increased.– Известно, что эксплуатация подземных линий
передач возросла.
Сложное подлежащее употребляется, когда сказуемое выражено
следующими глаголами в Passive Voice: to know, to say, to believe, to report, to consider, to think.
Ex.: The first pocket-size colour television sets were reported to
have been developed.
Сообщили, что разработаны первые карманные цветные
телевизоры.
Сложное подлежащее употребляется, когда сказуемое выражено
следующими глаголами в Active Voice: to seem. to prove, to happen.
Ex.: Nowadays the principle of radio operation seems to be quite
simple.
Теперь (сейчас), кажется, принцип работы радио довольно
прост.
Сложное подлежащее употребляется, когда сказуемое выражено
глаголом to be в следующих выражениях: to be likely (вероятно),
to be unlikely (маловероятно), to be certain (несомненно), to be sure
(наверняка).
Ex.: Lasers are unlikely to be used in our every-day life soon.
Маловероятно, что лазеры будут использоваться вскоре в
повседневной жизни.
Сказуемое в таких предложениях переводится на русский язык глаголом будущего времени.
