Числительные

1. Количественные числительные от 13 до 19 включительно, образуются с помощью суффикса -teen:

four - fourteen; nine - nineteen.

2. Количественные числительные, обозначающие десятки, образуются с помощью суффикса -ty:

six - sixty; seven - seventy.

3. Порядковые числительные, за исключением the first, the second, the third, образуются путем добавления к количественному числительному суффикса -th. У числительных, оканчивающихся на -у, эта буква заменяется на -ie.

4. Порядковые числительные употребляются с определенным артиклем the:

the first, the fifty-fifth.

5. Написание количественных числительных

- каждые три разряда справа налево отделяются запятым: 1,000,000

- целая часть от дробной отделяется точкой: 1.5

6. Слова hundred, thousand, million и т.д. после числа употребляются в единственном числе:

two million, eight hundred, five thousand,

но Hundreds of foreigners visit Novgorod monthly.

7.Числительные 31, 61 и т.п. согласуются с существительными во множественном числе:

There are 31 days in October.

8. Годы обозначаются количественными числительными:

1900 nineteen hundred;

1703 seventeen three (seventeen and three);

1941 nineteen forty-one

•умножение - multiplication

6*2= 12 - twice six is twelve

six (multiplied) by two equals twelve

• деление - division 15:3=5- fifteen divided by three equals five

fifteen divided by three is equal to five

•возведение в степень - involution

I0⁷ - ten to the minus seventh power

•извлечение корня - evolution

V/6 = 4 - the square root of sixteen is four

V8 = 2 - the cube root of eight is two

V2⁷ - the fifth root out of two to the power seven

13. Передача номера телефона в телефонном разговоре

Каждая цифра произносится отдельно, при передаче кода, после него делается пауза:
