TYPES OF ORGANIZATIONAL FORMS AND STRUCTURES

Organization is a group of individuals working together to achieve one or more objectives. There are a lot of forms of organization. It is means the type of ownership. The main differences in their ability to rise a capital, the size and another indicators. The most popular types of organization are sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation.

Sole proprietorship - is form that requires the least amount of capital and personnel, where the proprietor is the owner. There are very few government and legal regulations to comply with. A partnership consists of two or more people who share the ownership of a business. A partnership should begin with a legal agreement covering various aspects of the business. The corporation is a legal entity, which is chartered by the state in which it is included under the laws. As a legal entity, the corporation can own property. The ownership of the corporation is divided into shares of stock. And corporation can raise large amounts of capital by selling shares of stock.

Each company is structured in a special way. Most business organizations have a hierarchy with one person or a group of people at the top, and an increasing number of people below them.

The organization might also be divided into functional departments, such as production, finance, marketing, sales and personnel.

More recent organizational systems include matrix management and teams, both of which combine people from different functions and keep decision-making at lower levels.

In conclusion I’d like to say that nowadays managers use a lot of innovative methods such as team-working, flexibility, hot-desking. They can help to motivate staff and avoid organizational problems.

Flexibility. Innovative management practice.

Some of them want to find ways of motivating their people to be ever more productive and creative. The current buzzword is flexibility. It is about an employee and an employer making changes to when, where and how a person will work to better meet individual and business needs. This has a number of related meanings.

One type of flexibility has existed for some time in the form of flexitime or flextime, where people can choose when they work within certain limits.

Then there is flexible working with some staff hot-desking, particularly those who are home working, teleworking or telecommuting and who only need to come into the office occasionally.

A third type of flexibility is where employees are recruited on short contracts to work on specific projects, maybe part-time. Perhaps the organization only has a core staff, and outsources or contracts out work as and when required. Some management experts say that this is the future, with self-employment as the norm, and portfolio workers who have a number of different clients.

All these practices can be used to develop both product and organizational innovation. Innovation management includes a set of tools that allow managers and engineers to cooperate. The focus of innovation management is to use its creative efforts to introduce new ideas. So, using flexibility and innovating management can take the company to the higher level and have a good competition to rivals.

To sum up I’d like to say that there are a lot of ways of stimulating employees to work better. It’s important to choose the necessary methods for your type of organization, your employees and your corporate style.

How to improve work efficiency and increase employee motivation?

Many companies have been living for a long time and have been successful, because they always have been reviewing the prices and markets, and business in general. They realized that they had to provide to customers quality services at competitive prices.

To cut costs, increase efficiency and in the result boost their profits, they stopped investing in unprofitable areas. Is it really difficult to own an industrial empire, that has a great number of factories and plants all over the world?

First of all you should have really a well-planned management structure. It’s really difficult to lead an organization, because you have to focus not only on how it works, but also how to control it. Also you should be ready to spend much money on buying new equipment, because operating your production lines at full capacity requires the use of cutting – edge technology.

All business should motivate employees to increase their productivity, to find more satisfaction in everything they do and really be interested in the business development. To make it, the company should establish some performance benchmark and encourage every achievement with appropriate bonuses. Many companies practice flexible hours of work. It is one more incentive for employees.

To sum up I’d like to say that there are a lot of ways of stimulating employees to work better. It’s important to choose the necessary methods for your type of organization, your employees and your corporate style.
