Management levels
The importance of managerial roles varies depending on the management
level in an organization.
The managerial staff usually consists of three levels of management. Top management, or high-level management, are people who have the most power and responsibility. These senior managers are the most important managers in an organization. Middle management have less power and responsibility and implement the goals of senior managers. Supervisory management are managers at the lowest level. They coordinate the work of all other employees who are not managers. Notes:
an employer is a person or organization that employs people.
an employee (syn. worker) – someone who is paid to work for someone else.

What is a manager?
Almost everyone was, is, or someday will be a manager. A number of different words are used for “manager”, including “director”, “administrator”, “president”.
The term “manager” refers to those people in the organization who direct and control a business or a department and the people, money and equipment involved in it.
One of the most important tasks a manager performs is decision-making – the process of choosing a proper course of action from among the alternatives available to solve a problem.
And what is more, the manager’s job cannot be finished at a certain time on a particular day. It just keeps going.

Managerial skills
Managing is a hard job: much work to be done but relatively little time to
do it.
In order to perform their functions properly and effectively managers
need interpersonal, organizational, and technical skills.
Interpersonal skills are those required to understand other people, to
interact with them, and to get them to work.
Organizational skills enable the manager to arrange the work of different
parts of a system to work together, to predict the long-range effect of their decisions.

Technical skills known as administrative skills are required to perform a
particular job (the ability to make schedules, to read computer printouts, etc.).
