1. Find out the information of the faculty
In 1955 a new mechanical and heating engineering laboratory was opened at
the faculty of Physics. But later in 1963 this laboratory was reorganized into the
Industrial Pedagogical Faculty, which was renamed as the Engineering Industrial
Pedagogical Faculty in 1990. Since 2006 it has the name
of the Faculty of Technology and Service.
There are four specialties at the faculty:
Technology and Service, House Keeping, Service,
Social Service and Tourism.
Creative and research activities are carried out at
the faculty. Students take an active part in cultural life of
Volgograd State Social Pedagogical University:
Students’ Fashion Theatre, exhibitions of creative
achievements, thematical competitions and so on.
Students also take part in different technical and
graphical contests. The best students are awarded with prizes and health trips to
Health Center “Dagomys”.

VOLGOGRAD STATE SOCIAL PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY
Our university is one of the leading pedagogical institutions of higher learning
in the Russian Federation. It was founded in 1931 as Stalingrad Industrial
Pedagogical Institute. Then it was renamed as Stalingrad State Pedagogical Institute.
Later it was named Volgograd State Pedagogical Institute.
After the Great Patriotic War the institute was situated in the building of
Akademicheskaya Street (now it is Building No. 2). The Main Building was
constructed in 1959. Building No. 1 was built next to it in 1998.
The institute was named after the
famous writer Alexander Serafimovitch.
In 1992 the institute got the status of
the university and the name of Volgograd
State Pedagogical University.
Since 2011 our university has the
name of Volgograd State Social
Pedagogical University.
The university is an educational complex. It has its branch in Mikhailovka,
three pedagogical colleges, the gymnasium, the boys’ pedagogical lyceum, schools
and kindergartens.
Teaching and research are carried out by highly qualified staff: Candidates of
Science, Doctors of Science and Academicians.
The university offers courses leading to higher degrees such as Bachelor,
Master, Candidate of Science, and Doctor of Science.
Since the time VSSPU was founded it has prepared thousands of teachers and
has become one of the greatest scientific centers in our country. Volgograd State
Social Pedagogical University is well-known not only in Russia. Many students from
different countries study here.
