Student Life is Golden Life
It is said that “student life is golden life,” because student life is the
most important part of human life. It is the period of pure joy and
happiness, because the mind of a student is free from cares and worries
of a grown-up life.
In this period, the character of man is built. So, it is called the
formative period of human life. Every student should try his best to make
the best use of his student life.
The primary duty of a student is to learn and to acquire know ledge.
He must do all his work at the right moment and maintain punctuality
and discipline. He must remember that if a student becomes successful in
his student career and his character is built on a sound basic, he will be
able to shine in any sphere of life and serve his society and countries.
A student should spend most of his time of this golden period in
reading and learning. A good student never waste his time fixed for
reading uselessly. But he must not be a book-worm being always
engaged in his studies. He should also be careful about his health and
spend some time daily in some sports and games. You should try to
develop your body and mind at the same time.
As a student you must try to develop your intellect. You should
also try to acquire some good qualities like obedience, dutifulness,
respect on elders and love and sympathy for fellow man in the society.
The duty of a student is to obey his parents and teachers and respect the
elders of the society.
Students are the future hope of a country. So every student should
try to be the best citizen in all respect, so that he may serve his country as
far as he can.3

10 Habits of Highly Effective Students
Part 1
The key to becoming an effective student is learning how to study
smarter, not harder. This becomes more and more true as you advance in
your education. An hour or two of studying a day is usually sufficient to
make it through (успевать, справляться) high school with satisfactory
grades, but when college arrives, there aren't enough hours in the day to
get all your studying in if you don't know how to study smarter.
While some students are able to breeze through school with
minimal effort, this is the exception. The vast majority of successful
students achieve their success by developing and applying effective
study habits. The following are the top 10 study habits employed by
highly successful students. So if you want to become a successful
student, don't get discouraged, don't give up, just work to develop each
of the study habits below and you'll see your grades go up, your
knowledge increase, and your ability to learn and assimilate information
improve.
Don't attempt to cram all your studying into one session. Ever find

yourself up late at night expending more energy trying to keep your
eyelids open than you are studying? If so, it's time for a change.
Successful students typically space their work out over shorter periods of
time and rarely try to cram all of their studying into just one or two
sessions. If you want to become a successful student then you need to
learn to be consistent in your studies and to have regular, yet shorter,
study periods.
Plan when you're going to study. Successful students schedule
specific times throughout the week when they are going to study ‒ and
then they stick with their schedule. Students who study sporadically and
whimsically typically do not perform as well as students who have a set
study schedule. Even if you're all caught up with your studies, creating a
weekly routine, where you set aside a period of time a few days a week,
to review your courses will ensure you develop habits that will enable
you to succeed in your education long term.
Study at the same time. Not only is it important that you plan when
you're going to study, it's important you create a consistent, daily study
routine. When you study at the same time each day and each week,
you're studying will become a regular part of your life. You'll be
mentally and emotionally more prepared for each study session and each
study session will become more productive. If you have to change your
schedule from time to time due to unexpected events, that's okay, but get
back on your routine as soon as the event has passed.
Each study time should have a specific goal. Simply studying
without direction is not effective. You need to know exactly what you
need to accomplish during each study session. Before you start studying,
set a study session goal that supports your overall academic goal (i.e.
memorize 30 vocabulary words in order to ace (улучшить) the
vocabulary section on an upcoming English test.)
Never procrastinate (откладывать) your planned study session. It's
very easy, and common, to put off your study session because of lack of
interest in the subject, because you have other things you need to get
done, or just because the assignment is hard. Successful students DO
NOT procrastinate studying. If you procrastinate your study session,
your studying will become much less effective and you may not get
everything accomplished that you need to. Procrastination also leads to
rushing, and rushing is the number one cause of errors.

Part 2
Start with the most difficult subject first. As your most difficult
assignment or subject will require the most effort and mental energy, you
should start with it first. Once you've completed the most difficult work,
it will be much easier to complete the rest of your work. Believe it or not,
starting with the most difficult subject will greatly improve the
effectiveness of your study sessions, and your academic performance.
Always review your notes before starting an assignment.
Obviously, before you can review your notes you must first have notes to
review. Always make sure to take good notes in class. Before you start
each study session, and before you start a particular assignment, review
your notes thoroughly to make sure you know how to complete the
assignment correctly. Reviewing your notes before each study session

will help you remember important subject matter learned during the day,

and make sure studying targeted and effective.
Make sure you're not distracted while you're studying. Everyone
gets distracted by something. Maybe it's the TV оr your family. Or
maybe it's too quite. Some people actually study better with a little
background noise. When you're distracted while you're studying you lose
your train of thought and you're unable to focus ‒ both of which will lead
to very ineffective studying. Before you start studying find a place where
you won't be disturbed or distracted.
Use study groups effectively. Ever heard the phrase "two heads are
better than one"? Well this can be especially true when it comes to
studying. Working in groups enables you to get help from others when
you're struggling to understand a concept, complete assignments more
quickly, and teach others whereby helping both the other students and
yourself to internalize the subject matter. However, study groups can
become very ineffective if they're not structured and if groups members
come unprepared. Effective students use study groups effectively.
Review your notes, schoolwork and other class materials over the
weekend. Successful students review what they've learned during the
week over the weekend. This way they're well prepared to continue
learning new concepts that build upon previous coursework and
knowledge acquired the previous week.4

82 per cent of Korean high school graduates enroll in university. In
order to gain entry, they need to pass their KSAT examinations (the
equivalent of A-Levels), the preparation for which is intense and lengthy.
Korean high school students sometimes attend school from 7 am until
midnight, and on weekends visit private "hagwons" (academies similar
to crammers, which are attended all year round in South Korea) to brush
up on their English, maths or science. Many parents pay big money to
make sure their children secure places at the "top" universities, like
Seoul National University and Pohang University of Science and
Technology, from which big employers like Samsung, Lotte and
Hyundai are said to cherry-pick the best graduates. Parents are often also
heavily involved in students' choice of degree subject ‒ the most popular
courses to study are business, management, finance, accounting and, of
course, technology.
Once students reach university, courses are mostly four years long.
At undergraduate level, South Korean parents usually fund their children
for the four years of their course, with those that can't afford to taking
out loans. As the aim of most university courses is explicitly to make
students employable, this investment has traditionally been seen as a
sound one.
The initial couple of years are often spent developing the social
skills many students missed out on gaining during their adolescent years.
"We have no free time at high school, so even our parents encourage us
to have fun at university", says Park Myung-seop, a Korean masters
student at Goldsmiths, University of London. "The first two years
usually involve lots of going out and socializing." The second half of the
degree is usually when the hard work takes place. The nation has a
fantastic record of producing talented, hardworking individuals, but the
educational methods used to do so are very different to what we're used
to in the UK.5

It is named after its first rector ‒ Doctor of Technical Sciences,
professor, the Hero of the Soviet Union, Timofey Fedorovich
Gorbachev.

The first 300 students came from Moscow. The first academic year
started on the 1st of November. There were only two faculties: mining
and mine construction and electromechanical. At that time there were 14
departments and 27 members of the teaching staff (only 6 of them had
academic degrees).
In 1965 the Mining Institute was transformed into Kuzbass
Polytechnic Institute.
In November 1993 it was renamed into Kuzbass State Technical
University.
In 1997 the university opened training and counseling centers in the
cities of Anzhero-Sudzhensk, Belovo, Mezhdurechensk, Novokuznetsk,
Prokopyevsk and Tashtagol. In 1998 training and counseling centers
were transformed to branches of KuzSTU. In 2005 all branches of
KuzSTU passed certification, licensing and the state accreditation.
Kuzbass state technical university has international relations with
higher education institutions and the companies in the USA, Germany,
Holland, Sweden, Great Britain, China, Mongolia and neighboring
countries.
The university has got several research laboratories: applied thermo
physics, improvement of ways of development of coal fields,
environmental protection, processes and devices of water purification,
geodynamic division into mineral deposits.
The university has licenses for design of buildings and
constructions, for expertise of industrial safety, for performance of
geodetic works, for development of standards of emissions of the
