9. CULTURE
Read the text and translate. Why is culture important?
Culture is natural development during birth process and its evolution is based
on intelligence reaction to experiences and needs. For example initial stages of
humans; behavior were similar to other animals living in groups. Animals too live in
groups (society or community) and their group behavior and practices is their
culture.
Differences of cultures of two societies when clash lead to war and stronger
one overpowers the other to establish own culture that way it broadens its culture.
An apparent example we have is western culture spread in most part of the world.
Culture rules virtually every aspect of your life and like most people, you are
completely unaware of this. If asked, you would likely define culture as music,
literature, visual arts, architecture or language, and you wouldn't be wrong. But you
wouldn't be entirely right either. In fact the things produced by a culture which we
perceive with our five senses are simply manifestations of the deeper meaning of
culture – what we do, think and feel. Culture is taught and learned and shared –
there is no culture of one. And yet, culture is not monolithic – individuals exist
within a culture. Finally, culture is symbolic. For example, a "home", is a physical
structure, a familial construct and a moral reference point – which is distinct from
one culture to another.
Culture is vital because it enables its members to function with one another
without the need to negotiate meaning at every moment. Culture is learned and
forgotten, so despite its importance we are generally unconscious of its influence on
the manner in which we perceive the world and interact within it. Culture is
significant because as we work with others it both enables us and impedes us in our
ability to understand and work effectively together.

10. SPORT
Read and translate the text. Are you a sport conscious person?
Sport (or, primarily in North America, sports) is all forms of competitive
physical activity which, through casual or organised participation, aim to use,
maintain or improve physical ability and provide entertainment to participants.
Hundreds of sports exist, from those requiring only two participants, through to
those with hundreds of simultaneous participants, either in teams or competing as
individuals.
Sport is generally recognised as activities which are based in physical
athleticism or physical dexterity, with the largest major competitions such as the
Olympic Games admitting only sports meeting this definition, and other
organisations such as the Council of Europe using definitions precluding activities
without a physical element from classification as sports. However, a number of
competitive, but non-physical, activities claim recognition as mind sports. The
International Olympic Committee (through ARISF) recognises both chess and
bridge as bona fide sports, and SportAccord, the international sports federation
association, recognises five non-physical sports, although limits the amount of mind
games which can be admitted as sports.
Sports are usually governed by a set of rules or customs, which serve to
ensure fair competition, and allow consistent adjudication of the winner. Winning
can be determined by physical events such as scoring goals or crossing a line first,
or by the determination of judges who are scoring elements of the sporting
performance, including objective or subjective measures such as technical
performance or artistic impression.
In organised sport, records of performance are often kept, and for popular
sports, this information may be widely announced or reported in sport news. In
addition, sport is a major source of entertainment for non-participants, with
