ОТ АВТОРОВ

Учебное пособие предназначено для студентов 2-го курса дневной формы обучения и отвечает требованиям ГОС ВО к подготовке бакалавров и специалистов по направлениям 15.03.02 – «Технологические машины и оборудование5»,.03.031 – «Прокладная механика», 15.05.01 – «Проектирование технологических машин и комплексов»,13.03.01 – «Теплотехника и теплоэнергетика».

В пособии представлен теоретический материал по основным разделам грамматики английского языка, разработан комплекс упражнений для формирования активных грамматических навыков. Лексические единицы постоянно повторяются, что способствует обогащению и закреплению словарного запаса студентов.

Пособие состоит из 9 уроков-тем, каждый из которых содержит лексические и грамматические упражнения, направленные на преодоление лексико-грамматических трудностей, а также даны три текста для обучения различным видам чтения и задания к ним.

Тематическое содержание предлагаемого текстового материала актуально для данного курса. Тексты отобраны с учетом их информативности и изложены по принципу возрастания трудности и усложнения тематики.

Тексты для дополнительного чтения расширяют информацию основных текстов или освещают технологические проблемы.

Представлены грамматический справочник и информационный справочник основных мер измерений и сокращений.

The Voronezh State University of Engineering Technologies

The Voronezh state university of engineering technologies founded in 1930 is one of the leading institutions of higher education in Russia for training highly skilled specialists for food and chemical indus-

tries.

The Voronezh state university of engineering technologies is one of the largest technological colleges of our country. It is housed in three buildings in Revolution Avenue, in the very center of Voronezh. The faculties of Management and information science in technological systems and Food machines and equipment, the faculty of Ecology and chemical

technology, Technological and Economical faculties train students in 26 specialities.

36 departments are staffed with about 600 teachers including 80 Professors and DsSc, more than 300 Lecturers and PhDs. The total number of the students exceeds 8000.

There is a big University campus in the centre of the city with 4 students hostels located in different places of the city. The laboratories and lecture halls are equipped with up-to-date research and computer facilities. The student have every facility for their studies, work and recreation: lecture halls and labs, reading halls and a library, workshops, a gym and sports grounds, an assembly hall, a large canteen, a refectory and a health recreation center.

Education is free of charge and most of the students get scholarships although there are “students who are to pay for their tuition (extra budget students)”.

The University provides study resulting in a graduate engineer 4 year course in the following specialist areas: automation of technological processes and production; computers and computer complexes, systems and networks; economics and management of food processing enterprises; machines and equipment for food industries; plastics and elastomer processing technology; technology of bread, confectionary, pasta and food concentrates; sugar technology; technology of fermentation and wine-making; meat and meat products technology; milk and dairy products technology.

The Voronezh state university of engineering technologies is a member of the long-term international collaboration programs, it has academic contacts with higher educational establishments of Germany, China, Poland, the USA, France, and other countries.

The scientists of our university work in different fields of knowledge. They develop new technologies of food manufacturing, chemical and food equipment. They investigate different problems of food engineering, computers systems and networks economics and ecology. Some of the students take part in this research through the Students Scientific societies. Those students who are interested in research and are successful in their studies have opportunities to be trained abroad. It provides brilliant opportunities for professional growth.
