ВЕДЕНИЕ
Данное учебное пособие грамматических упражнений предназначено для формирования и проверки навыков владения грамматическим материалом студентов, изучающих английский язык.
Учебное пособие может быть использовано как во время аудиторных занятий, так и для самостоятельной работы студентов, а также оно может быть полезным для всех лиц, желающих повысить свой уровень знания английского языка.
Учебное пособие позволяет студентам значительно пополнить словарный запас, закрепить новую лексику, выполняя предлагаемые задания. Особое внимание в пособие уделяется отработке навыков применения различных грамматических явлений. Большое количество упражнений дает возможность варьировать выбор заданий, определяя индивидуальную траекторию обучения студента в зависимости от его подготовки. Заключительные тесты каждого раздела позволяют выявить пробелы в изучении конкретной темы и определить рост грамматической компетенции студентов.
Тематический принцип построения учебного пособия дает возможность использовать его для выборочного изучения определённой грамматической темы. Данное учебное пособие может быть продуктивно использовано на занятиях английского языка со студентами I и II курсов высших учебных заведений.
Авторы надеются, что работа с этим пособием будет способствовать формированию навыка самостоятельного овладения материалом, и поможет в дальнейшем совершенствоваться в английском языке.

Present Continuous or Present Simple?
Exercise 1. Underline the correct words.
1.A: What do you do/are you doing?

Past Simple or Past Continuous?
Exercise 1. Put the verbs in brackets into the past simple or the past continuous.
1.When Bjork … (perform) with the new band, they … (release) two albums, The Eye and Holidays in Europe.
2. The band then … (go) on a European tour. Bjork and her husband … (have) a son and … (start) the band the Sugarcubes in 1986.

Past simple or past continuous?

Past Simple or Present Perfect?
Exercise 1. Complete this dialogue by putting the verbs in brackets into the correct form of the past simple or present perfect. Use contractions where possible.
Victoria: Hi, Sue. I (1) … (not/see) you for ages!
Sue: Hi. No, I’m sorry. I (2) … (not/be) in touch with anyone recently I (3) … (be) really busy.
Victoria: Oh, what have you been up to then?
