1.8.1\ Scanning Method

The patient should be on fast for 8–12 h and should be in a supine position. Probe vertically is placed in middle line of the subxiphoid.

1.8.2\ Section Structure

Longitudinal section of ligament teres hepatis which arises from the left portal vein to the anteroinferior edge of the left lobe. Longitudinal section of the caudate lobe, the quadrate lobe, and the sac segment of the left portal vein.

1.8.3\ Measuring Method and Normal

Measuring anteroposterior diameter of the caudate lobe. It should be less than 3 cm in the normal liver.

1.8.4\ The Clinical Application Value

Paraumbilical vein reopens in the patient of portal hypertension as a tubulous anechoic area, arises from the left portal vein through the ligament teres hepatis to the interior anteroinferior edge of the left lobe, and then runs down along the anterior abdominal wall to the navel. Color Doppler blood signal can be shown by CDFI. Ligament teres hepatis which locates in the left longitudinal furrow of the liver is a landmark of the bounder of the left internal lobe (medial lobe) and left external lobe.
