Abstract. In connection to the widespread use of modern methods of project, program, portfolio management (PPPM) in the national economy, the problem of the remaining large number of unsuccessful projects and programs up to 50-90 percent in a number of industries is considered. The ways to improve the situation, based on international and national experience, including the creation and wide use of systems of databases of positive and negative PPPM experience are proposed. The concepts of values of PPPM, and PPPM standards, and how to identify them, and proposals for the extension of basic PPPM processes, recommended by most modern PPPM standards, are made.
