Summary

Jack and Jill come back from their holiday.

Roger the robot goes to the airport to meet them.

The children have got their baggage back, but Jack's suitcase is missing. So they have to go to the lost property office. The robot is helping them (им).

The clerk [klɑ:k] wants to know some information about the lost suitcase. At last14, Jill can see Jack's suitcase and raincoat. Jack is happy.

Now everything is in order (всё в порядке) and they can go home.

12. Jill has got a cold

Helen: What day is it today? Sunday? No, it isn't Sunday. It's Monday. No, it isn't Monday. It's Tuesday today.

And what's the time? It's quarter past ten. Repeat after me: It's quarter past ten. And what's the time now? Tell me. Right. It's quarter past eleven. Again: It's quarter past eleven.

Jill: Achoo!15

Helen: That's Jill. She's got a cold.

Jack: Here. Put this scarf round your neck.

Jill: Achoo! Have you got your bucket and your fishing rod?

Jack: Yes, I have.

Jill: And don't forget: Pooh wants a goldfish. He likes goldfish.

Helen: Hello, Jack. Is that your bucket?

Jack: Yes, it's mine.

Helen: And what's that?

Jack: It's my fishing rod.

Helen: Oh, is it yours?

Jack: Yes, it's mine.

Helen: Jack is going fishing on the river. He wants to catch a goldfish for Pooh.

Jack: Come on, Pooh. Let's go.

Jill: Achoo!

Helen: Hello, Jill. How are you?

Jill: I've got a cold.

Helen: Poor Jill. She's not very well today. She's got a cold. Why don't you go to bed, Jill? And I'll call for the doctor. OK?

Jill: Achoo!

Helen: Thanks. Bye! The doctor will come over in a minute. Let's see what Jack is doing at the moment.

Jack: Come on, fish. Hey, come on.

Jack: Here. Hold this. Let's go inside. The doctor is here to see you. Jill, where are you?

Jill: Here I am.

Doctor: Now open your mouth, Jill. Say, "Aaah".

Jill: Aaah …

Doctor: Put out your tongue. Have you got a temperature? Oh, yes. You are hot. You've got a cold.

Jill: Mmm … I want to go to Diana's birthday party on Saturday.

Doctor: No, you can't go to the party. You've got a cold. I've got some medicine ['medsin] for you. Here's a bottle of milk and a pot of honey. You've got to drink a glass of hot milk with one spoonful of honey three times a day. Here, Jack. Get this for Jill.

Helen: Tom is dressed up as a doctor. Do you like to dress up?

Now let's have a look at some pictures from our story. Tom asked Jill, "How are you?" And here's Jill's answer, "I'm ill". Tom is the doctor. He asked Jill, "Have you got a temperature?" Tom said, "You've got a cold". Tom had some medicine for Jill. He said, "Get better soon".

Jill wants to go to Diana's birthday party on Saturday. Look, here are the days of the week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Diana's birthday party is on Saturday.

And now let's have a look at some of Jill's medicines. A glass of milk and a spoonful of honey. I don't like honey.

Now let's go back to Tom, Jack and Jill.
