OUR UNIVERSITY

Kazan State Technological University was established in 1919.Many well-known scientists of our country graduated from the University, some of them teach there. The University plays a great role in the development of chemical industry. Now it is the largest higher school in our city. About 25000 students study here.

There are 20 faculties headed by deans. The majors taught there are the following:

1. Engineering.

2. Mechanical Engineering

3. Compressors

4. Petroleum Refining

5. Polymers

6. Technology

7. Bioengineering

8. Automation of Chemical Technological Processes

9. Economics and Social Work

10. Food Technology

There are many chairs which help students get ready for their future work. In well –equipped laboratories students make experiments. Large lecture rooms, a good library, reading -halls and gymnasiums are at students’ disposal.

Many professors and lectures deliver lectures and hold seminars on different subjects such as

Mathematics, Physics, Foreign Languages, Descriptive Geometry, Economics and many others.

The academic year lasts from the 1st of September to the first of July. It is divided into two terms. At the end of each term the students take their credit tests and examinations. The marks are registered in a student’s record book.

Besides the studies the students take an active part in social activities. Some of them are members of the student scientific society, sport clubs or different hobby groups. They often hold discussion or meetings in their groups.
