После разрушения на поверхности излома детали обнаруживаются обычно две ярко выраженные зоны.
В одной зоне кристаллы можно различать невооруженным глазом с большим трудом.
Микроповерхность излома сглажена.
В другой зоне явно выступают признаки свежего хрупкого разрушения, кристаллы имеют острую огранку и блестящую чистую поверхность.
В целом создается впечатление, что подобного рода разрушение связано с изменением кристаллической структуры металла.
Именно этим и объясняли в свое время разрушение при циклических напряжениях.
В настоящее время установлено, что структура металла при циклических нагрузках не меняется.
Кристаллическое зерно, сохраняя в основном свою форму и связь с соседними зернами, постепенно разделяется на части полуразрушенными разрыхленными прослойками, имеющими определенную кристаллографическую ориентацию.
