Завдання для виконання індивідуальної самостійної роботи студентів за варіантами
Завдання пропонуються в п’яти варіантах. Студент визначає номер варіанта за останньою цифрою студентського квитка (остання цифра 1 або 2 – виконується варіант №1; 3 або 4 – варіант №2; 5 або 6 – варіант №3; 7 або 8 – варіант №4; 9 або 0 – варіант №5). Слід дотримуватися вищезазначених вказівок і використовувати необхідну кількість слів при складанні документів. Завдання оформлюється на аркуші А4, шрифт 14, інтервал 1,5, з указанням імені та прізвища студента англійською мовою.
І. Завдання до теми «Профайл». (120-150 слів)
Варіант І. A youth magazine is running “The Best Friend of the Year” competition and has asked its readers to submit their profiles describing their friends. Write your best friend’s profile for the competition. Be honest and introduce your friend properly.
Варіант ІІ. Your teacher has asked you to write a profile describing the person who has influenced your life the most.
Варіант ІІІ. Your teacher has asked you to write a profile describing a famous person from history whom you admire. Your profile should be informative and convincing.
Варіант ІV. A TV channel has asked its young viewers to submit a description (personal profile) of their favorite film star (or other celebrity). The prize is two tickets to MGM studio. Write your profile for the competition.
Варіант V. You are going to participate in a student’s exchange programme. Send your personal profile to the international exchange center (IEC). Your profile should cover your potential, skills and abilities.
ІІ. Завдання до теми «Лист – повідомлення».(120-180 слів)
Варіант І. You are interested in animals and like to be active. You have decided to go on the horse-riding holiday in North Wales. You are going to write a letter to a friend telling him/her about your holiday plans. Think of all arrangements for the holiday and a list of points to include in your letter.
Варіант ІІ. Your groupmate has just popped out to travel agent’s to get holiday brochures. She/he has read about the project of tracking wolves in the Tatra Mountains. Accommodation is in huts and cooking is shared. Volunteers must be fit and have two weeks spare. What would she/he write to you about her/his arrangements for the project?
Варіант ІІІ. Write a letter to your friend who is coming to stay with you during the autumn break informing him/her of the sight- seeing programme you have planned for him/her. Give him/her details of what you are going to do or to see.
Варіант ІV. You have just been offered a very good job abroad. You can say that your dream came true. Write to your best friend, giving details of your news and plans connecting with your job.
Варіант V. You have decided to go on an organized trip to France. Your cousin wants to come, but needs more information. Write to cousin, giving all relevant details.
Іii. Завдання до теми «Офіційний лист – скарга».
(120-150 слів)
Варіант І. You are a participant of the international scientific conference. The hotel you stayed in offered a very poor service, food and technical means in particular. Complain to the hotel manager about it. Insist on compensation in the sum of $ 1000.
Варіант ІІ. Company Smith and Co supplied you with the equipment you didn’t order. Write a letter of complaint. Ask them to clear up the situation and to fill your order in the shortest terms.
Варіант ІІІ. On delivery of crockery you discovered that its largest part is damaged. Complain to your supplier. Ask for a full refund.
Варіант ІV. You celebrated your birthday in one of the local restaurants last Sunday. You and your guests got food poisoning that evening. Complain to the restaurant manager. Demand compensation. Warn him/her about legal actions.
Варіант V. A DVD player you bought two days ago stopped working with no evident reason. Complain to the department store about it. Ask for a new player or for refund.
