1. В 1952, главная вычислительная компания приняла решение выйти из бизнеса производства компьютеров майнфрэйм(или крупногабаритных ЭВМ). Они полагали, что рынок был только для четырех универсальных ЭВМ в целом мире. Той компанией была IBM.

2. В 1980, IBM решили, что рынок для 250 000 ПК, таким образом, они организовывают специальную команду, чтобы развить первый ПК IBM. Он вышел в продажу в 1981 и установил международный стандарт для IBM – совместимость, которая, за следующие десять лет была серьезно изменена только лишь одной другой компанией, Apple.
