Your friend doesn’t know what to choose: to live in a city or in the country. GIve him/her some advice
Well, I grew up in a small settlement. I really lucky to live there, because it’s a nice, quiet place with beautiful nature and everything is easy to do: the lake is only 15 minutes away. The people are friendly and kind-hearted. You can enjoy nature. You know everybody and it’s safer in the country.
But life in the city is much more interesting and exciting. There are a lot of places of interest. You can meet interesting people in the city, who can make your life more exciting.
In my opinion, life in the city is more dangerous. The streets are always full of people, cars and buses, and in general modern cities are very dirty. It’s up to you to decide.
Describe the best place you would like to settle down when you leave school
I’m thinking of a possibility to settle down in a big city like Minsk or Brest. Most young people want to live in a big cities, because they find much more opportunities for self-actualization there. So I would like to enter a university there and offer graduation. From it it’ll be easier to find a prestigious, well-paid job. The city life is full of entertainment. You can enjoy the latest play at the theatre. You can visit the museum or the exhibition, or spend time at any disco club with your friends.

Your relative wants to decorate his/her flat. Give him/her some advice on how to furnish it
What type of house would you prefer to live in? Why?
Tell me about the house/flat you live in
I live in a new three-storey block of flats in the settlement of Orekhovsk. Our flat is on the first floor. We have all modern conveniences such as the central heating, gas, electricity, cold and hot water. The flat consists of two rooms, a kitchen, a bathroom and a small hall.
Our living room is the largest in the flat. It overlooks a green parks and has a lot of modern furniture. There is a corner-sofa with two armchairs and a small table for papers. A TV hangs on the wall. A thick carpet on the floor and curtains on the windows - all this makes the room cozy. My parents use the living room as a bedroom.
My room is smaller. Here you can see a writing desk-table where I do my homework. There is a pull-out sofa where I sleep at night. There are some bookshelves.
But the coziest place in our flat is our kitchen where our family gather every evening not only to have dinner together, but also to talk and have a rest. I like my flat.

Do you live in an old or a new house?

Your relative wants to decorate his/her flat. Give him/her some advice on how to furnish it
I think it will be reasonable to surf the Internet in search of some examples of a design. If you choose a certain style then it will be easy to decide about the furniture. I wouldn’t recommend to overcrowd the room with the furniture. There should be everything that is necessary. In this case you’ll have enough space and air in your room. Besides it’s easier to clean such rooms.
But the most important thing about the design of any room is to make it cozy.

Modern Belarusian cookery is based on old national traditions. Common in Belarusian cuisine are dishes from potato which is called among people “the second bread”. Potato is included into many salads, it’s served together with mushrooms, meat; different baked puddings are made from it. The most popular among the Belarusians are traditional draniki, thick pancakes.
The second place in Belarusian national cuisine belongs to meat and meat products. especially to pork and salted pork fat.
Belarusian national cuisine also offers fresh, dried, salted and pickled mushrooms and various berries.
