What would you like to show to your guests from England in Belarus?
I’d like to show the Braslav Lakes District. The Braslav Lakes are located in the North-West of Belarus. They were given the status of a national park in August 1995, and are known as one of the most picturesque places in Belarus. The flora of the Braslav Lake District counts more than 800 species of plants, 20 of them are included into the Red Book of the Republic of Belarus. The main treasure of the district is its unique and diverse fauna. The Braslav Lakes have 30 species of fish, 45 species of birds are part of the Red Book.
Braslav, one of the oldest towns in Belarus, is the centre of the national park. The national park is the place for passive and active recreation, tourism, fishing and hunting. The national park offers its visitors various one-day and multi-day tours. A motor boat trip or a helicopter tour leaves an unforgettable impression. The guests of the Braslav Lakes District may enjoy the services of the local museum and tourist camps.
Give me a piece of advice on what sight to see in London?
It’s really hard to do, because London is one of the world’s most enjoyable cities. It’s a city of dream of everybody interested in English history and culture. I can advice to start with the most famous and well-known London sight, Big Ben. It’s the name of the bell in one of the towers of the Houses of Parliament, a symbol of London.
Opposite the Houses of Parliament there is Westminster Abbey. It’s one of the most famous and beautiful churches in London, where the kings and queens are crowned and famous people are buried.
The Tower of London is a real attraction for tourists. Now it’s a museum where you can see the Crown Jewels.
The British Museum is the largest and richest museum in the world. Is was founded in 1763. Madam Tussaud’s Museum is an exhibition of wax models of famous people. The collection was started by Madam Tussaud, a French modeller in wax in the 18 century.
