Wishes about the present

• Мы используем wish с формами в Past Tense (Indefinite и Continuous) для выражения сожаления по поводу ситуации в настоящем времени.

Существует несколько вариантов перевода этих предложений.

f.e. I wish you were with me.

1. Как бы я хотел, чтобы тs была со мной.

2. Мне бы хотелось, чтобы ты была со мной.

3. Жаль, что тебя нет со мной сейчас.

• Мы используем wish с could для выражения желания изменить ситуацию в настоящий момент.

I wish I could use a computer well.

Wishes about the future

• Мы используем wish с would для выражения желания а) исполнения какого-либо действия (желательного поведения людей), б) выполнения каких-либо действий в ситуациях, где не задействованы люди).

I wish you would stop talking. I wish they would stop arguing.

I wish this car would go faster.

Wishes about the past

• Мы используем wish с Past Perfect, когда выражаем сожаление по поводу действий, имевших место в прошлом.

f.e. I wish you had been with me at the sea.
