§ 3 The Future Indefinite Tense вживається з наступними виразами:

tomorrow, the day after tomorrow, tonight, soon, next week / month / year, in a week / month / year, in two days, in three weeks;

§ 4 Запам’ятайте, що для вираження майбутньої дії в підрядних реченнях часу та умови, які вводяться сполучниками when коли; after після того як; before перш ніж, перед тим як; till, until поки; as soon as як тільки; if якщо; unless якщо не; while у той час, як; доки; замість Future Indefinite вживається Present Indefinite:

I’ll be here till you come. –Я буду тут, поки ти прийдеш.

Wait until I get my coat. – Почекай, поки я дістану пальто.

If you come, I shall give you this book. –Якщо ви прийдете, я дам вам цю книжку.

I will not bring the book unless she phones me. – Я не принесу книжку, якщо тільки вона не подзвонить.

We will go on an excursion if it doesn’t rain. - Ми підемо на екскурсію, якщо не буде дощу.

Hurry up! If we don’t hurry, we’ll be late. – Поквапся! Якщо ми не поквапимося, ми запізнимося.

I’m going to read a lot of books while I am on holiday. – Я збираюся прочитати багато книжок в той час, як я буду на канікулах.

When I phone Kate this evening, I will invite her to the party. – Коли я подзвоню Каті ввечері, я запрошу її на вечірку.

§ 5 Якщо when використовується як питальне слово, після нього потрібно вживати Future Indefinite а не Present Indefinite:

When will I know the results? –Коли я буду знати результати? (when - питальне слово)

I can’t tell when it will be ready. – Я не можу сказати, коли це буде готовим. (when - питальне слово)

§ 6 Після if можна вживати Future Indefinite з виразами, які свідчать про невпевненість, необізнаність, тобто після виразів I don`t know, I doubt, I wonder:

I wonder if he will be on time. – Цікаво знати, чи прийде він вчасно.

I doubt if I will see him today. – Я сумніваюсь, чи побачу його сьогодні.

I don’t know if I will go shopping today. –Я не знаю, чи піду я сьогодні в магазин.
