PRESENT PERFECT ACTIVE

Subject + has/have + past participle form of the verb + object

Доконані часи утворюються з допоміжного дієслова to have у відповідній часовій формі і дієприкметника минулого часу (Past Participle) основного дієслова. Present Perfect вживається для вираження дії, що відбулась у минулому, але пов'язана з теперішнім результатом, тобто з моментом мовлення.

Стверджувальна форма Present Perfect утворюється з допоміжного дієслова to have у Present Indefinite (have, has) і Past Participle основного дієслова.

Для утворення питальної форми Present Perfect допоміжне дієслово have (has) ставиться перед підметом. У коротких відповідях після займенника вживається лише допоміжне дієслово.

Для утворення заперечної форми Present Perfect після допоміжного дієслова have (has) ставиться частка not.

Обставини часу, як правило, розташовуються між допоміжним та основним дієсловом

(just, already, ever, never) або в кінці ре­чения (today, yet, so far, this week).

Examples:

• You have seen that movie many times. / Ви бачили цей фільм багато разів.

• Have you seen that movie many times? / Ви бачили цей фільм багато разів?

• You have not seen that movie many times. / Ви ще не бачили цей фільм багато разів.

Exercise 11. Put questions to the underlined words:

1. Ann has studied very much this term.

2. The patient has sustained a trauma.

3. These affected tissues haven’t recovered for a long time.

4. He hasn't wiped the skin around the burn with alcohol yet.

5. The sanitary transport has just delivered an injured person from the spot of accident.

6. I have been his patient since 2009.

7. They have just seen the nurse in the hall.

8. I have broken the thermometer.

Exercise 12. Open the brackets using the verbs in the Present Perfect and translate them:

1. The nurse just (to give) analgesics to the patient suffering from the muscle pain.

2. Nelly never (to visit) a dentist.

3. Viruses grow when they (to invade) living cells.

4. When the tumor (not to spread) beyond the lymph nodes, surgery may be effective.

5. Some oncogenic viruses already (to be investigated).

Exercise 13. Correct the mistakes:

Exercise 14. Translate the sentences:

1. Анна вже знайшла таблетки від болю в м'язах і суглобах, які їй приписав лікар.

2. Я щойно прийняв знеболювальний засіб.

3. Лікар ще не закінчив операцію із заміни ушкодженого суглоба на штучний.

4. Воні щойно бачили медсестру у третій палаті.

5. Студент вже надрукував реферат про травми м'яких тканин.

6. Ти коли-небудь був на студентській науковій конференції? – Ні, ніколи.
