The monography of the scholars of the Institute of Sociology of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences is one of the first complex research in Ukrainian sociology and social sciences on the reflection and analysis of the social transformations at the edge of the XX–XXI centuries. Theoretical conceptualisation of the global social transformation is projected by authors through the prism of a real experience of complex transformation processes which taken place in Ukraine today. It is analysed the actual for the Ukraine’s transformation contemporary theoretical models and strategies of social transformations, that are: postmodern visions, the concept of civil society and its social-political applications, the theories of new communicative paradigms in the mutual relationship of the power and the public (public relations), conceptualisation of the role of traditions in social transformations, the issues of social identity and contemporary versions of the theory of conflict.
The authors hope that proposed book can find its readers not only in the circle of social scientists, researchers, lecturers, students and post-graduate students in humanities, but it also could be useful for politicians and people who are interested in the issues of social
transformations.
