GRAMMAR SECTION

Present Continuous Tense.

Простое продолженное время.

Present Continuous используется для обозначения действий, происходящих в настоящий момент или в момент другого действия; действий, которые начинаются в настоящий момент и будут продолжаться в ближайшем будущем.

I am working now.

It is early. We are having breakfast. She is sleeping.

We are leaving tomorrow1.

Для образования Present Continuous используется вспомогательный глагол to be (I am; you are; he is; she is; it is; they are; we are) и смысловой глагол в форме Причастия I (ing-форма).

При образовании Причастия I (ing-форма) к основе глагола (называемому инфинитивом) без частицы to прибавляется окончание –ing.

Внимательно изучите правила образования причастия 1. Образуйте причастие 1 от следующих глаголов и впишите в графу примеры.

Venice is a beautiful town in Italy. It is old. There are many ancient buildings. The town is built1 on the Lagoon2 of Venice. The water is constantly rising and flooding the town.

You can see a picture of Venice. It is cloudy. But it is not raining. Several boats with tourists are passing near the coast. At the same time other tourists are walking along narrow streets. Many people are drinking coffee in small street cafés. Some tourists are visiting museums and places of interest. People are also buying souvenirs.

The building on your left is world-famous. It’s the Doges’ Palace. There are other sights in Venice: churches, bridges and palaces. It is a very nice place to visit.
