Paralympic athletes told children about the way they got good
results. According to Olga Sergienko, the main secret are self-belief,
patience and the ability to overcome difficulties.
Alexey Ashapatov claimed that he was very proud to be a part
of our national team in International competitions. He was thankful
to Khanty-Mansy Autonomous Okrug for the conditions created for
athletes with physical disabilities. Alexei admitted that there was the
opportunity to do sport on the professional level, there was a comfortable infrastructure. That was highly important for people, like they
were.
Children asked Olga and Alexey a lot of questions about their
sport career and private life. There was an autograph session at the
end of the meeting. Pupils admitted that the meeting was highly important for them. Julia Kaneva, the pupil of 5b class, said that it was
interesting for her to learn what ways the Paralympic athletes train
themselves, about their achievements.
The teacher of the primary school Larisa Opletaeva said after
the meeting that they taught pupils to be nice with physically disabled
people, they removed the communication barriers. That meeting was
useful for the pupils. For lot of them it was a stimulus to go in for
