My friend works at the Ministry for Foreign Trade. He is an engineer. His
company does business with different countries. My friend's office hours begin at 8 in
the morning. He has got much work to do every day. He looks through newspapers
and journals, enquiries and-offers, catalogues and quotations. He discusses many
business matters with the customers: prices for goods, terms of payment, shipment
and delivery.
Sometimes foreign inspectors come to Moscow and my friend goes together
with them to plants in and outside the city.
Now my friend's office is doing good business with Blake & Sons. This company sells chemical equipment to different countries. Their equipment is very good
and my friend's company is interested in it. Now they are discussing the terms of a
contract for a new model of chemical equipment of Blake & Sons.
