We gather facts and attitudes from the press, the television and the radio.
(the ) television |
the telephone |
the post (Br) |
(the) telly |
the phone |
the mail (Аm) |
(the) TV |
the newspapers |
|
the box |
the press |
|
(the) radio |
the papers |
|
the news |
the paper |
|

They go on the television |
and smoke drugs before |
the viewers. |
Не isn’t as serious as he is |
on television. |
I don’t want to be seen on |
the telly. |
I saw this film on TV last |
year. |
(There’s a photo of him on the television) е. в какой-то телевизионной программе), например: There’s а good programme on the television tonight.
I just heard her speaking on |
the radio. |
106
He had already become |
a climbing spokesman |
on radio. |
|
A large part of Linda’s day |
is spent on the telephone. |
Anna and Linda are regularly |
on the phone with each оther. |
I made an attempt to reach |
her at the camp bу telephone. |
The papers are saying how |
unusual it is. |
How would it look in |
the papers? |
This is what we read in |
the paper. |
107
One morning there arrived |
through the post an amazing |
letter. |
|
Не acquired the necessary |
reference books bу post. |
Это такие слова: cinema (aмер. movie), theatre, opera, ballet:
Let’s go to the movies. |
You have seen things. |
You have bееn to the opera, |
the ballet, the theatre. |
Cinema, theatre, opera, ballet, a
It was an evening of drama, |
music and dance. |
You know that I’m fond |
of theatre, ballet in particular. |
Television can be an art medium. |
|
