A front mounted infeed slide can be attached to the machine to face, groove or cut-off. Magnetic controls are attached to the machine, thereby eliminating the need for extra floor area. Options such as chip conveyors, bar feeds and power chucking are also available.

The U100 can be interfaced with either the GE 1050TZ, General Numeric GN5T. McDonnell Douglas Actrion III microprocessor controls or the GE 1050T or General Automation Adapt-A-Path controls.

C.N.C. production lathe

The ST-6 CNC Lathe is an all new high production lathe with a disc turret of 12 stations holding 6 cutting tools and 6 boring bars; high speed range 300 to 4,500 open and a swing of 12 % in. The chip remover is standard equipment. Carriage and cross slide are driven by high-torque electric motors providing short acceleration and retardation times. The inclined bed has separate guides for carriage and tailstock and steady rests respectively. The ST-6 may be equipped with a bar feed to maximum 1 1/2 in. bar. The machine is CNC controlled and the control unit is suspended in front of machine for operator accessibility, with the computer at the rear of the machine. Tape reader is at the rear of the control panel. The computer capacity has been increased to 16 К and an alpha-numerical display panel is standard. All programmes may be dialed-in manually or by tape.

NC grinder has laser system

This high-precision N/C grinder has on-line laser measuring and learning control for machining profiles on pistons and cams. Profile accuracy of ±-3 jj.m on a general automobile cam profile is attained because the learning control supports the compensation of profile accuracy by using a laser system. are: Max. distance between centres, 1,000 mm; swing over table, 320 mm; max. diameter of workpiece, 200 mm; least input increment (for wheelhead feed), 0.0005 mm, (for workspindle rotation), 0.001° and (for table feed), 0.001 mm; N/C feed stroke (for wheelhead), 170 mm and (for table), 1,100 mm; and floor space, 4.3 x 2.8 meters.

NC milling machine

A new Series 11 NC machine from Bridgeport has a control unit having the ability to read tapes in either tab sequential or word address format. Another feature is the use of a plug-in module (option C6) for operation as a CNC machine. This option stores parts programs of up to 80 feel of tape. In addition, up to 16 subroutines can be defined and repeated indefinitely. Nested loops may be programmed up to four levels. Cutter compensation is also included in the C6 option.
