2)Communicative Interaction of teacher – student in the educational process of the Uni-

versity.

In the discussion of the first issue («Philosophical, culturological and Philological grounds of Intercultural Communications») the presentations were made by: Prof. Oscar Goikhman on the theme «Communicativity and Dialogue of Cultures», Prof. Margarita Silantieva on the theme «Intentions of the other as the Basis of the Communicative Act», Prof. Elena Voevoda on the theme «Typological classification of Cultures and Behavioural Imperatives in the Communication Act».

Prof. Elena Voevoda singled out the basic culture models described by the well-known authors (for example, the model of Richard Lewis, the model of Gert Hofstede , the model of Edward Hall, etc.). The speaker stressed that constructing these models was originally associated with the study of the specific nature of linguistic and communicative behaviour of various ethnic groups of Europe, Asia and the East united together by a large corporation. The American scientists have made interesting observation concerning , for example, such prolegomenas as the relation of different ethnic groups to power, collectivism / individualism, the phenomenon “Time“ , etc. Accordingly, all the cultures were subdivided into collectivist and individual ones, sympathizing power and opposing power (“ power distance “ ), culture for which time is a relative notion and cultures for which time is concrete notion and so on. Having stressed the importance of the effective intercultural communication, Elena Voevoda has rightly noted that in Russia and CIS countries such studies have not been conducted. As the author stressed, such intercultural investigations could really shed the light on the inter-ethnic contacts of the Russian people and representatives of CIS countries, studying at Russian Universities, “as the teachers very often cannot give an objective (motivated) assessment, for example, to the reluctance of some student (from the CIS) to take part in the discussions, to ask questions, their unwillingness to work in pairs at practical lessons, etc. “ The reasons for this are in the peculiarities of their cultures .

Therefore, according to E. Voevoda, conducting the researches for identifying the specific features of the cultures of the CIS and defining models of communicative behavior of their representatives would have allowed us to obtain answers to these questions and to promote the better mutual understanding, mutual respect and progress in the intercultural communication.

On the second problem (“Communicative Interaction of Teacher – Student in the Educational Space of the University. Factors Providing the Effectiveness of the communicative Act”) three main reports were made by: Prof. Anatoli Belogurov on the theme: “On Culturological

Component of the Intercultural Communication Process”; by Prof. Nadezhda Romanenko – on the theme “On the Ethnic Component of the Communication Process”, Associate Professor Catherine Shishlova on the theme “On Gender Component of the Process of Intercultural Communication”.

The round table was attended by all those present.

During the second day of the seminar three sections worked:

1.Languages and Cultures.

2.Problems of Linguistic Didactics and Translation Studies.

3.Linguistic and Cultural Borrowings as reflection of Ethnic Contacts.

At sittings of the section “LANGUAGES and CULTURES” interesting and informative reports were presented. The research fields were different languages and cultures of the world. In particular, in this section in focus of the research there were “Languages and Culturesˮ of the European countries (England, France, Germany, Switzerland, Greece, Romania, Denmark and many others. As well as the East and Asia (Japan, Korea, China, India and so on).

The problem of borrowing was considered as the phenomenon of intercultural interrelations (L. Ryzhova), as one of the levels of culture interpenetration (Irina Shepeleva, Ph.D. of Philology, English Language Associate Professor of the Chair №2 MSUIR).

A great attention was paid to discussing the role of cultural competence in the process of intercultural communication (Irina Dorofeeva, PhD. of Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of Foreign Languages of the Humanitarian Faculties of Tver State University); to the problem of the influence of cultural thesaurus of communicants on the process of intercultural interaction (Tatyana Nechepurenko, Ph.D. of Philology, senior teacher of the English language chair N4 MSUIR)

The subject of the discussion was the problem of cultural interaction at the level of reflecting this interaction in belles letters. So, for example, Kseniya Antonyan (Ph. D. of Philology, associate professor, senior research worker of the Department of Languages in Eastern and South-Eastern Asian Institute of Linguistics of the Russian Academy of Science (RAS) made a report on the theme "Genre "tszatszuan" in the Chinese literature and its refraction in the Japanese literature, of "dzuikhitsu" genre”, in which she considered the specific nature of representing the Chinese cultural realias in the Japanese artistic discourse.

At the section «Languages and Cultures» an important place was given to the consideration of the following issues:

1)emotional concepts (in particular, in the Hindi language. So, in his report Alexander Sigorskiy (Ph.D. of Philology, associate Professor of the chair of Indo-Iranian and African languages of MSUIR) summarized the results of researching emotional contents "Pride» «Humility», and «Shame» in Hindi, singling out at the same time the general and the particular.

2)temporal phenomena, for example, the study of the concept " time" in the linguistic world picture of the Indian people (Marina Alexandrova , teacher of the Chair of Indo-Iranian and African languages, postgraduate student of MSUIR);

3)ethic realias in different cultures, that was reflected in the papers:

by Olga Likholetova ( Ph. D. in Philology, associate professor of the Japanese, Korean , Indonesian and Mongolian languages, MSUIR) on the theme " Influence of Signs upon the Nonspeech Etiquette of the Japanese people ";

by Nadezhda Izotova (Candidate of culture studies, associate professor of the chair of the Japanese, Korean , Indonesian and Mongolian languages of MSUIR) , who focused on considering "Traditional Japanese values" and, first of all, the culture of gifts ;

by Anna Sinyakova (candidate of Economic Sc.,associate professor of the chair of Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Mongolian Languages, MSUIR) who considered " Korean vocabulary and confutsian ethics ", and others.

4) Elena Kulanina (Postgraduate Student of the chair of the Japanese Language, MSUIR) dedicated her paper to the description of the calligraphy influence upon the characteristics of the individual.

An active discussion was aroused about the problem of gender aspect in the current domestic and foreign researches. In this connection, of great interest was the report by Natalia Kozyreva (Senior teacher of the English Language Chair N4, MSUIR) on the theme " Gender Castling in the English Language: Feminization of Males and Masculinization of Females ".

The next set of problem of the section «Languages and Cultures» concerned the study of business terminology, business discourse, political vocabulary, advertising in reflecting intercultural relations and so on. Thus, for example, Anna Toropova (the teacher of the chair of the Scandinavian, Finnish, Netherlands and Greek Languages, MSUIR) analyzed the specific character of the "Languages of Greek advertising in the Diachronical aspect".

The problems discussed at the section "Languages and Cultures " also included the problems studying phraseologisms in the context of intercultural communication, representation of the people's folklore as an ethnos-and- psychological sign of cultures in different stylistic texts

and genres, in particular, in the German Press. Anzhelica Shiticova (Senior teacher of the German Language Chair of MSUIR) analyzed "the role of the transformed proverbs, their variants and types in the German Press ".

The second section PROBLEMS OF LINGUODIDACTICS was focused on the generalization of the linguodidactic experience in teaching foreign languages in higher educational institutions and schools. The reports of the participants were devoted to the following problems:

the Role of Illustrative Material in the Creation of Works of Speech (Olga Ilyina, PhD in

Philology, Head of the English Languages Chair №3, MSUIR);

the Importance of Innovation Processes in Foreign Language Education (Svetlana Somova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, the Chair of Foreign Languages of Ryazan State University named after S.A. Esenin.);

the Role of Linguistic Competence of Teacher of Foreign Language in the Context of Bilingualism (Tatiana Tsvetkova, PhD in Philology, Head of the Chair of Theory and Translation Practice, Moscow State Linguistic University) ;

the Importance of Early Language Professionalization of Students of the Beginning Course ( by the example of the Italian language) (Anna Pavlova, the teacher of the Chair of the Romance Languages of MSUIR);

the Role of Common Cultural Competence of Graduate of Non-Language Higher Educational Institution: Text-Centric Approach to the Formation (Nadezhda Klementsova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Foreign Languages Chair of Kaliningrad State Tech-

nical University), and others.

In her report Larisa Velikolug (Cand. of Ped. Sci., Associate Professor of the Chair of Translation Methods of Teaching Foreign Languages of Moscow State Linguistic University) highlighted the phenomenon of " Culturonimies as a separate object of linguodidactic study .

Of great interest was the report by Ivan Kuritsyn (a post graduate student of the Chair of

Pedagogy and Psychology of MSUIR) on the theme: «The Representation of Social Concepts in the Discourse of Textbooks in the English Language ". He touched on what is in fact hidden, is implicated in the discourse of foreign manuals in English, aimed at teaching Russian students learning English.

A number of the reports delivered in the linguodidactic section presented linguodidactic recommendations of a practical character, for example:

1)Reader for Home Reading: Competence-and-Motivational Approach (Nikolai Klimovich, PhD in Philology, Professor of the English Language Chair № 6, MSUIR);

2)The Parameters Determining the Formation of Intercultural Competence and the Ways of its Formation by Means of Fragments of Feature Films (Paul SilaYev, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of the English Language and Teaching Methods of Smolensk State University);

3)Remote Technology as a Means of Improving Students` Teaching Linguocultural Studies ( Lydia Kostikova, Doctor of Ped. Sci, Professor of the Chair of Foreign Languages, the Chair of History and International Relations of Ryazan State University named after S.A. Esenin);

4)Linguistic and Extra-Linguistic Grounds 0f Appearing Errors in Interpretation of Implied Temporal Information (Olga Larina, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the English

Language Chair №8, MSUIR);

5)Using the Model of Liberal Arts (septem artes liberals) in Training Specialists on International Law or Affairs (Olga Nemirovich, Cand. of Ped. Sci., Associate Professor of the English

Language Chair №5, MSUIR), and others.

The problem of using the global Internet network in the system of the German language teaching was considered as a separate subject. (Anastasia Berezovskaya, the teacher of German Department, MSUIR).

Particular attention was paid to the use of elective foreign language courses in technical colleges (Anna Gureeva, Cand. of Ped. Sci., senior teacher of the English Language Chair №4,

MSUIR).

The problem of teaching Russian as a foreign language (RAF) was one of the topical problems discussed at the seminar. So, Elena Minaeva (a post graduate student of the Chair of Coordination of Research Projects and Graduate Courses of Russian State Institute named after A.S. Pushkin) devoted her report to studying the problem "Communicativs as Means of Transmitting Non-Linguistic Information at the Lessons of RAF".

When discussing the Problems of Translation ( Section 2a: The leader: Vladimir Khayrullin, Doctor in Philology, Professor of the Chair of International Relations of Bashkir State University) participants of this section placed at the center of the discussion the following questions:

1)English-Language Statements with Methods of Personification and Ways of their Translation into Russian (Vladimir Khayrullin);

2)Typology of Lexical Lacunas (Valery Kuznetsov, Doctor in Philology, Professor of Moscow State Linguistic University);

3)The role of Footnote in Teaching Translation (Tatiana Zemtseva, Moscow State Linguistic University, Associate Professor);

4)Peculiarities of Translating Linguistic Culturems and Social Culturems (by the example of V.S. Vysotsky`s translated texts into English and French) (Asya Ovchinnikov, the teacher of

Lycée de Stal (Collège de Stael, Lycée Hélène Boucher);

5)Deriving Grammatical Formula of Sentence and its Use in Teaching Translation from Russian into English (Alexander Zavolokin, senior teacher of Ryazan State Radio Engineering University).

6)"In the Mountains is my Heart", or Hello, Mr. Burns, How Are You? Empathic Knowledge and Work on the Translation in a New Way (Irina Kladenova. “An Honored Teacher of the Russian Federation", Kurgan "Grammar school №47”).

The names of some of the reports were a priori methodological prolegomena for the activities of any interpreter. Compare, for example, the name of the report by Olga Okuneva (teacher of the English Language Chair №4, MSUIR): "Translation Begins where Dictionary Ends": Equivalence and Adequacy of Translation". Thus, even in the title of the report, above all, the role of the interpreter is emphasized and his/her world view in creating a new text.

Section number 3 worked at the problem "LINGUISTIC BORROWINGS AS REFLECTION OF THE INTERACTION OF CULTURES" (The leader: Professor Lyudmila Vedenina).

The first set of the issues was mainly dedicated to the global theoretical problems associated with the problem of "borrowings":

1)Borrowings at the Present Stage: Phenomenology, Typology, Reasons (Natalia Gabdreeva, Doctor in Philology, Professor, Head of the Chair of the Russian and Tatar Languages of Kazan National Research Technical University named after A.N. Tupolev);

2)Borrowings: the Expansion of Foreign Language or Mutual Enrichment of Cultures? (Alevtina Kolosova, Candidate of Historical Sci., Associate Professor of the Chair of Mass Communications of the Philological Faculty of Russian University of Peoples' Friendship, Natalia Poplavskaya, Assistant of the Mass Communications Chair of the Philological Faculty of Russian University of Peoples' Friendship);

3)Foreign-Language Borrowings and Linguistic Picture of the World (Elena Voivoda, Doctor of Ped. Sci., Head of the Chair of Pedagogy and Psychology, MSUIR);

4)Language and Cultural Borrowings as Reflection of Ethnic Contacts (Elena Oryol, PhD in Philology, Lecturer of the Chair of Romance languages, MSUIR), and others.

The second set of issues concerned the interaction of specific languages and cultures of the world caused the appearance of borrowings. So, Andrey Shtanov (PhD in Philology, Head of the Chair of Languages of the Near and Middle East Countries, MSUIR) focused on the RussianTurkish Cross-Cultural Exchange.

Of great interest was the report by Tatyana Gurevich (Doctor of Cultural Studies, Professor of the Chair of the Japanese, Korean, Mongolian and Indonesian Languages, MSUIR). In her report she considered the borrowings in the contcepto-sphere of the Japanese language. The author stressed that in the Japanese language 49% of borrowings are sinologisms which are to be recorded in hieroglyphs. In the Japanese language more than 18% of the words are the borrowings from other languages, e.g., from English. As a rule, according to the author, we are dealing with

neologisms, for example, from the sphere of fashion,

advertising

and others.

Cf.: Happy (“happa”), Humor yumua"), MacDonald (“makduru”),

etc. In the

Japanese lan-

guage the compiled dictionaries of borrowings demonstrate the dynamics of growth in a number of borrowings. Professor T.M. Gurevich also stressed that Japanese poetry (haiku) should a priori use only native Japanese words. However, in recent Years these instructions have sometimes been violated.

Roman Zaitsev (Candidate of Philosophic Sci., Senior Teacher of the Chair of the Chinese, Vietnamese, Lao and Thai Languages of MSUIR) considered the problem: " Taiwanese Language: Inter-Influence between the Japanese and Chinese Languages in the XX Century ". The speaker emphasized that from 1895 to 1945 Taiwan was a part of Japan, since 1945 – a part of China. In this regard, there exists an inter-influence of the Japanese, Taiwanese and Chinese language on each other. The Taiwanese language is a tone one. The Chinese language has 4 tones. There is also a high staccato tone. According to R. Zaitsev, at present there has been formed a special Taiwanese language with its phonetics, vocabulary and grammar.

The problem "Ethnic-and-Cultural Semantic Presence of Borrowings in the French, Italian and Russian Languages" was considered by Galina Ovchinnikova (Doctor in Philosophy, Professor, Head of the Chair of Linguistics of Tula State Pedagogical University named after L.N. Tolstoy).

A unique formulation of the problem and its study were noted for the report of Galina Makarova (Doctor of Cultural Studies, PhD in Philology, the Russian People's Academy of Sciences) on the theme: “French Amurology as the Object of Teaching (based on the textbook

“Parlez d'amour ...”).

A significant number of reports were focused, on the one hand, on reflecting the borrowings in Italian, and, on the other hand, on the borrowings from the Italian language used in other languages, for example, in Russian, which is reflected in the problems of the following reports:

1)Borrowings in Italian: Sectorial and Geographical Aspects (Lada Nagornova, Associate Professor of the Chair of the Romance Languages, MSUIR).

2)Russian-Italian Borrowings during the Cultural Exchange (Olga Lipatova, PhD of Psychology, senior teacher of the English Language Chair № 2, MSUIR).

3)Borrowed Cultural Traditions of Northern Italy (Svetlana Voronets, PhD of Philology, the teacher of the Romance Languages Chair).

One of the central issues discussed at the seminar was the problem of the interaction between Western and Eastern cultures. In this connection, the following reports deserved attention:

The report of Irina Tsybova (PhD in Philology, Professor of the French Language Chair, MSUIR) on the theme: "Arabism in the Languages of Europe" ;

The report of Nina Uspenskaya (PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of the Languages of the Near and Middle East countries, MSUIR) on the topic: "Artistic Borrowings as a Result of the Influence of the West and Russian Literature on the Arab Writers ";

The report of Natalia Kovyrshina (PhD in Philology, Associate Professor, Lecturer of the

Arabian Language Grammar school №1257) on the theme: "Creativity of Khalil Beydasa (1875-1949): Russian Influence or Borrowings?";

The report of Elena Kukhareva (PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of the Languages of the Near and Middle East countries, MSUIR) on the theme: "The Arabian Linguistic and Cultural Borrowings as Reflection of Inter-Ethnic Contacts";

The report of Irina Chudova (the teacher of school №315) on the theme: "InterReflection of Ethnic-and-Cultural Stereotypes in E.E. Schmitt`s Story "Monsieur Ibrahim and the

Flowers of the Koran ", etc.

The subjects of the reports also involved Russian-French and German-French borrowings. For example, Ksenia Nagaeva (PhD in Philology, Professor of the Chair of Linguistics and Professional Communication in the Field of Political Sciences of Moscow State Linguistic University) considered "French Social-and- Political Borrowings in Russian Linguistic Culture".

In her report Lyudmila Metelskaya (PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the French

Language Chair №1, MSUIR) summarized the results of studying the Influence of the German Language on the French Language in Switzerland.

The subject of the study of Elena GrigorYeva (Doctor of Ped. Sci., Professor of the Chair of Romance Philology of Moscow City Pedagogical University) was French borrowings, analyzed by the author in linguocultural aspect.

Foreign-language borrowings as reflection of the interaction of cultures were also discussed (based on the material in other languages), for example,

in Hindi (Anna Berezina, Doctor in Philosophy (PhD), Senior Teacher of the Chair of the Indo-Iranian and African Languages, MSUIR);

in Persian , in particular, as reflection of the ethnic Iranian contacts with other countries (Anna Berezina, Doctor in Philosophy (PhD), senior teacher of the Chair of the IndoIranian and African Languages, MSUIR);

in Vietnamese (Svetlana Glazunova, senior teacher of the Chair of the Chinese, Vietnamese, Lao and Thai Languages, MSUIR), and others. In Vietnamese foreign-language borrowings were considered as reflection of the country history.

The reports were also concerned with "English-Language Borrowings in Danish Social- and-Political Vocabulary"(Julia Avakova, the teacher of the Chair of the Scandinavian, Finnish, Dutch and Greek languages of MSUIR); there were generalized "factors of lexical divergence of the two variants of the modern Korean language" (Valery Sukhinin, Associate Professor of the Chair of the Japanese, Korean, Indonesian and Mongolian Languages, MSUIR), and others.

A special set of reports was devoted to the discussion of foreign-language borrowings in the Russian language . The subjects of such reports are topical and diverse, which is illustrated by the following problems:

Nature of Linguistic Inter-Borrowings in the Russian and English Languages in the PostSoviet Period (Lyubov Barkova, PhD of Philology, Professor of National Research University "Higher School of Economics");

Oriental Motifs in the Works of Outstanding Russian Writers (Natalia Shujskaya, PhD in

Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of the Languages of the Near and Middle East Countries, MSUIR);

On Comparison of the Processes of the Interaction of Cultures: Arabisms in Spanish and Turkisms in the Russian Language ( Caterina Streltsova, PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of the Chair of Foreign Languages and Regional Studies, Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov.);

Situational-and-Cultural Borrowings in Russian Colloquial Speech (Alevtina Perevozni-

kova,

PhD of Philology,

So, for example, in her report N.M. Shujskaya analyzed the reflection of oriental realities

and cultures

in the belles-lettres

of outstanding Russian

writers

and poets,

such

as in

M.Yu. Lermontov`s works (Cf.:"Circassians", "Prisoner of the Caucasus", the poem "Callas", "Ismail-Bey", "Bastundzhi Aul", "Hadji Abrek", and others), in the works of L. Tolstoy ( "The Cossacks", "Hadji Murad", etc.), of A. Belyui, N.S. Gumilev, S. Esenin ("Persian motifs", etc.), of A.P. Chekhov and many others. N.M. Shujskaya emphasized that N.S.Gumilev for the first time translated the famous Babylonian Epos about Gilgamesh into the Russian language, and he also planned to write the play "The Life of Buddha", but he failed to realize the intended purpose. In 1910-1912 A. Belyui travelled across Sicily, Tunis and Palestine. A.P. Chekhov, returning from his travel to Sakhalin, wrote to Ivan Leontiev (Shcheglov):”…- I can say: I have lived.

That`s enough for me. I have been both in hell, as Sakhalin seems, and in paradise, i.e. on the island of Ceylon.

In her report Catherine Streltsova noted that in Spain until 1492 there was dominated the Arabian vocabulary. The influence of the Arabian language on the Spanish language was very important. She stressed that more than 8% of the Spanish words are the words of Arabian origin, in particular, in the field of architecture, etiquette (formulas of politeness), and many others.

Considering Turkisms in the Russian language, in particular, in Moscow territory, E.A. Streltsova made a number of interesting observations. So, for example, according to the one

version, the

well-known name of "KashirskoYe highway" may have a Turkish origin

from Turkish

"kosh " (cabin, car park, dairy farm, camp), or "keshir" (crossing through the riv-

er). The name "Biryulyovo", according to the one version, "dates back to the tatar Ber (one)+Yul (road), as during the Mongol-Tatar yoke among thick forest there was only one roadcutting". The name " Basmannaya " (from Turkic Basman - palace bread with signet, hence "basmanschik – a palace baker).; "Taganka" (from Turkic "trivet" - tripod with a hoop for boilers and pots), and others.

Zinaida Fomina (Doctor in Philology, Professor, Head of the Chair of Foreign Languages of Voronezh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering) devoted her report to studying Slavic toponymic realities and their reflection in the conceptual sphere of modern German language (The theme of the report: "Signs of Slavic Literature and Culture in the Landscape of German geographical toponymy").

A large number of papers were devoted to the reflection of anglicisms in different languages of the world. Thus, Lyudmila Son (PhD in Philology, Associate Professor of Russian State Social University) discussed the problem "Lexical-and-Pictographic Level of the Internet Communication Language". In particular, she considered it in the aspect of the representation "of English borrowings in the Spanish language", and others.

The seminar demonstrated the width and diversity of current research, contributed to a broad and fruitful exchange of scientific opinions based on lively and interesting discussions held after each presentation, call the participants of this forum for a fresh look at their research, to complement and expand the range of research strategies and approaches to their consideration, etc.

I express my deep gratitude to all the organizers of the seminar and, most notably, to Professor Lyudmila Vedenina for the excellent organization and holding the seminar, for the friendly atmosphere and for the opportunity to become acquainted with the leading scientists of Russia
