OUR UNIVERSITY
To meet the requirements of this new age of scientific and technological progress, to cope with ever increasing educational and cultural level of society and to control criminalization of our economy the Ministry of Internal Affairs is planning to improve the overall quality of the future professionals.
There are more than twenty higher police schools in Russia
today. The Ryazan branch of Moscow University of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation was set up in 1998. The university curriculum is both theory and practice – oriented. It is supposed to give a thorough education and specialized professional training. University teaching combines lectures, practical classes and seminars or tutorials.
The programme here takes five years to complete for full-time students and cadets. The typical academic year runs from the first of September till the thirty-first of July. Generally students and cadets have many classes a day. There is also independent homework, particularly problem solving and essay writing. The fifth year is spent on research work and the writing of a diploma project.
Mid-term examinations are held at the end of each term. But during each term you will have middle term tests. Finals are taken at the end of the course of studies. The proficiency of students and cadets is tested by the Examination Board, comprising of several members of the teaching and administrative staff.
Many students and cadets participate in after-class sport events: field athletics, boxing, karate, judo and others.
Many students and cadets take part in other kinds of after-class activities. A well-equipped university concert hall is at the disposal of the cadets. So they can
show their talents playing musical instruments, singing, dancing, writing scenarios
