Хитроу насчитывает 45 тысяч человек.
Помимо
персонала 74 авиалиний, тут и грузовые
агенты, и работники торговли, и уборщики,
машинистки, механики, изготовители
замков и указателей, сотрудники охраны,
медсестры и даже два священника. Затем,
конечно, представители власти –
полицейские, таможенники, персонал
иммиграционной службы и паспортного
контроля. Наконец, врачи и сотрудники
ветеринарной карантинной станции,
препятствующие проникновению в
страну животных, не проверенных на
бешенство.
Если
пассажиру нужно что-либо узнать или
понять, он почти наверняка обратится
в справочное бюро. Коллеги по бюро
подобраны так, что вместе они могут
разобраться во всех европейских языках
и нескольких индийских диалектах,
а также объясниться знаками с глухонемым
пассажиром.

совпадают. В России аналогичное
положение: в Москве есть аэропорты
Шереметьево, Внуково, Домодедово,
Быково. В Нью-Йорке два международных
аэропорта – имени Дж. Кеннеди и Ла Гар-
диа. Общепринятое название аэропорта
имени Кеннеди по инициалам Джиэфкей.
В Чикаго – международный аэропорт
имени О’Хара и аэропорт внутренних
линий Мидвей. В столице США Вашингтоне
расположен аэропорт имени Даллеса,
в Бостоне – Логан.
